Energy Vibration, with Hedflux

G'day! I am elated to finally be sharing with you my remix of Hedflux's 2012 track 'Diversion'. This remix has been through ALOT of different permutations over the course of its creation. I knew I wanted to do something slightly out of the norm with the parts, but wasn't sure what until i'd made about 4 different variants of the same track, and eventually glued my favourite parts together.

This is my first ever remix for Steve, it was such a pleasure to remix the man that got me started on this kind of music. He originally asked me to have a crack at 'Mindcell', but I wimped out haha.

This remix will be coming out on Hedflux's very own label, (LUMINUS) as part of the Hedflux Remixed series. There's some seriously cool remixes to come from some of the best producers around, so i'm psyched to be a part of it.

His style is pretty freakin awesome and he's been getting a lot of attention recently for producing heavy hitting breaks tracks with crazy sound design and the original to this is no exception. So when I was asked to do the remix I didn't pay any attention to what the track was called, I just heard a sample and pretty much accepted it straight away. It was only a month or so later when I started the remix that I realised what it was called and thought "Oh shit, 'Welcome to the future'... If i screw this remix up then the future's not going to sound that great" ;)  

So I did my best and evan gave it a 4 to the floor break down in the middle, which is something I haven't done in years! Anyway, i'm ranting a bit now... I really hope you guys enjoy It, if you do then please share and leave comments and what not :)

As featured on my Summer 2012 promomix, this remix of Perfect Stranger's 'Slope' has been a regular feature in my  DJ set's for well over a year now, often as an intro track. It's a much more minimal affair than my other stuff, I tried to stay focused on the groove and the main lead line, while breaking it up with a few sick edits. Ap3x & Andy Faze - Inhale [In Bloom] OUT NOW!!

By now you will have heard me raving on about Grouch on facebook. For me, and many others, he is one of the true masters of psychedelic music, and a hugely inspiring character! I got to spend a couple of days with him when I was in Australia earlier this year, and we played around on our laptops, producing as many cool sounds as we could in the time we had. After this, we went home and each produced a track using those sounds as the basis. This is my version, and it will be coming out on Broken Robot in December 2012. Grouch's version will be coming out sometime in 2013, i'll keep you posted!

Long story short, I gave away one of my first breaks tracks for free a few years ago, it was called 'Beneath The Surface', and a fair few people over the last few months have asked wether or not i'd make something similar again. So I decided to try and write another liquidy chill out breaks track, because at heart i'm a big soppy git.
