This song was originally on inTrigue's "World Of Confusion" cassette from 1988 which was later reissued on CD. This particular track was recorded in 1985 on 4 track cassette and represents a relatively "slick" side of our work. We were trying to get a little funky in the process. This particular mix was done by Eric for my 2001 CD "I seem To Have All Of The Pieces...Now All I Have To Do Is Put Them All Together."

A live acoustic version of a song from the inTrigue days. This was recorded at the old Rock Of Ages record store on Main St. in Peoria IL in 1994 in support of my brand new album at that time "A Feel For Life." Oddly, I had attempted this song earlier in the set on electric guitar which resulted in a "feedback heavy" version. The result evidently went over well with the audience as this version was an encore performance!I played an electric set with a backing band at the same venue later that year. This was recorded by then store manager Tim Alexander.

Just another cynical song about the music industry and social conformity in general. This song was originally recorded around 1989 with my short lived band the Mix with a piano based arrangement that just didn't seem to work. Then another attempt was made in 1992 with another short lived band Polar Fringe with a guitar based arrangement during my "Jazz Chorus" period. After that band broke up, the song was without a home until I was asked to contribute a track in 1993 to a local compilation album called "They're Strong To The Finish." Since I wanted this to be credited as a solo track, I used the Polar Fringe backing track with my lead vocal and overdubbed my backing vocals and percussion. I am still not crazy about my vocal performance, but I think the song is kind of interesting. This also appears on my 2001 CD "I Seem To Have All Of The Pieces..." This version features some cool percussion by my old friend Ty and a combination a clean and processed acoustic guitars.

Standing Up Again (by Ed Carper)

"You're Always There" (Kenny/White) This is a song from my 1st solo album "A Feel For Life " (1994) The song was written by Dan Kenny (a coworker at Co-op Records in Peoria, IL) and Jim White (who had given me guitar lessons years earlier at Watson's music in Peoria). Dan, like myself and many of the record store staff, was an aspiring musician and songwriter. Several of us swapped cassettes of our songs for feedback. This song happened to be on one of Dan's tapes and I loved it. It was much poppier than than the rest of the songs and when Dan told me it was written about God, I was hooked and had to record it. Another coworker, Matt Shane played the drums on this recording and I did the rest. Enjoy!
