Resurrection Power - JacobTV

Composed between November 2013 and May 2014, the Infinity Saga suite is a programmatic concept piece written as a love letter to the video game soundtracks of years gone by.

Working all the way from arcade machines to more modern consoles, the music reflects the development and progression of video games over the last 3 decades, with each of the eight movements channelling the spirit of their respective eras. Using my own original material, the movements change in sound quality and compositional style whilst re-imagining themes and motifs to create the sound-world of the fictitious "Infinity Saga" series. The order of the movements is also reflective of a general, linear progression through a standard adventure/ RPG.

The material is heavily inspired by music from adventure/ RPG/ fantasy games, with special attention given to the works of Koji Kondo (The Legend of Zelda/ Super Mario) and Jun'ichi Masuda (Pokemon).
