Hellvetica Sample 052615

This is a cover I did this afternoon of Joe Satriani's "Always with Me, Always with You" from his album, Surfing with the Alien. There are minimal takes or punches - there's two breaks where it goes from a softer tone to heavier and back again, and another right before the tapping section in the middle, because tapping is not something I spend any real time on, so I therefore kind of suck at it.

It's harder than it sounds, as it's a song that's extremely conscious of poor timing and sloppy playing, all while trying to maintain a relatively "laid back" feel.

Blackbird - Savior

This is the first song I ever wrote. It had no name because it was waiting for someone to write lyrics for it - this was not written to be an instrumental. It was later reworked by Blackbird into Society's Falling Down.

Recorded on a Teac 144 cassette recorder, using a Roland TR-808 Drum Machine and a bass that someone LITERALLY picked out of a dumpster for me. I'm guessing the guitars were done on my 1986 Ibanez PL1660 guitar, but I really don't know for sure.

First Song - 1989

A reworking of the first song I ever wrote, with lyrics, real drums and my full band at the time. This would have been done in 1994, engineered by Brian King, with Brian on the drums, Lance Blick on bass, Lance Thoumire on vocals, and Joe Padula on other guitar.
