I started mixing back in 2019, off of my friend’s idea to make an event. Although I had no DJing experience, I told him: I will be DJing at your event no problem. I had one week of time to buy a controller and learn how to cleanly fade in and out tracks only to play at this event and have the time of my life.
It is only much later, in 2021, that the name „assetdavid” was born. I got it from my very first experience playing at a rave in Leipzig for playing an Acid and Trance oriented set that shook up the peoples hearts. Around 200 people had gathered far from Leipzig at the border of a lake, surrounded by beautiful nature and art. The experience was super intense, because I was told during the event that I would not have the chance to play, even though that was initially planned, due to the schedule being wildly off.  This was then taken back and I was more talked into playing rather than playing deliberately, because I had already given up on the idea, and also I was nervous as fuck. It turned out to be an amazing experience, again, while being one of the most stressful ones too. After that point, however, I started to play on several more occasions in Leipzig, such as during the international climate strike day, the Christopher street day, and raves organized by a music collective that I was associated with.
When it comes to my set releases, I love combining several Techno and Trance sub-genres. My BPM ranges from 130 to 170, therefore I am able to adapt very well to the time slot that I am playing. Vibe-wise, you may expect a very energetic vibe that is reminiscent of 90s rave sound.

Kian Gruber, also known as Melancore is a 24 year old DJ / Producer born and raised in Potsdam.
After joining the electronic music scene at the relatively „old“ age of 18 and then spending a couple of years on the floor, he discovered the joy of being behind the decks himself.
Starting out with the faster, more ravey sub-genres of techno he eventually found his current home at the slower, more rhythmic and industrial end of the spectrum.
Expect some deep/cinematic soundscapes, sharp and glitchy noises, a bit of groove, breakbeats and even a revisit to his past with a relatively fast paced ending, enjoy!
