"We lost Curley way too early and at a point where he was about to become very well known. He had a unique talent but the thing that got me the most was that we were walking the same musical path. We had arranged to work together in the new year but we sadly lost him on new years eve. I was very lucky to have worked with him on the Sahara technique ep and several times in the Spiral Tribe Studio 23 when we were parked up in Den Haag 1993-94. I was most influenced by a record he did with Yan from Unit Moebius on a small label called Oxalis from near Paris. The record featured a flange/chorus being fed back on itself. I was blown away and have developed this sound ever since. You will hear it on this mix. I dedicate this mix to my fallen brother who i will carry in my heart forever and who I always think of before I start an improvisation !!!

Anyone who hears his music and and mine will understand why we are musical brothers."

First hard dj mix attempt of the decennium. Looking back with nostalgia to the parties in the 90's when people were much more openminded about techno and acid.. and just music in general, before the gentrification and EDMisation of techno. 
RIP techno, you were amazing and changed my world for the better.

Ce serait une grave erreur de penser qu'il suffit de ne pas être soi-même désobligeant. Car en démontrant tranquillement à quelqu'un qu'il a tort, et que par voie de conséquence, il juge et pense de travers — ce qui est le cas dans toute victoire dialectique — on l'ulcère encore plus que par des paroles grossières et blessantes. Wave Arising (also known for his other project 69db) and Shlagga represent two different eras of rave and alternative party culture. Through Spiral Tribe and Sound Metaphors, Network 23 Recordings, and the Meta, they share a common philosophy built around freedom, community, and counterculture.

Bringing them together for Tour de Trance is a real pleasure. They perfectly embody what resonates with me today when it comes to defining musical movements within the alternative scene. Shlagga blends bass music, post-club, and trance with industrial rock, while Wave Arising crafts hypnotic live soundscapes, ranging from dub to tribal and Break n Bass.

The result: two mixes that are both distinct yet complementary. Shlagga’s is raw and dynamic, showcasing the diversity he brings to a set. Wave Arising takes us on a deep, trippy journey, building tension slowly and beautifully.
