Our next international guest goes by the moniker @doragray. A DJ and  vinyl collector from Finland part of The X-Rust Organization and an active member of the local scene of Turku since her teenage years. After buying turntables in 2006 Dora Gray was mostly into house and techno music, but right after, her taste evolved into more electro sounds and broken beats while growing a soft spot for acid. When it comes to mixing, she always strives to find harmonies so as to tell a compelling story through music, and that is what she has definitely done in this 42nd N2MU podcast. Enjoy it!

Podcast number 14 comes straight from a local producer we truly admire. These past 2 years have been highly productive for Sound Synthesis, releasing music on various labels including Furthur Electronix, 20:20 Vision and Fundamental Records. While the pandemic proved to be a fruitful one inside his studio, it has kept us away from experiencing his work in a foggy club with a proper soundsystem. Through this mesmerising 90 minute live set, he delivers a galactic dance-floor narrative with acidic machine funk and dreamy dark electro textures throughout. Close your eyes and space out.

Here is the ninth chapter of our podcast series, a new story told by @dj-heartbreak-berlin, committed record digger and music journalist based in Berlin.

For this episode, he wanted to refer to the classic tape format, therefore he imagined a two-sided mix. This meticulous blend of selected findings and oddities, features both the gloomy vibes and the hypnotic grooves that define Futurepast for him.

The first part takes you from the chilly shores of white noise and dramatic strings to the more electric and rhythmic lands of IDM and electronica. The second part is a progressive buildup of dub atmospheres and experimental beats, all finely sewed together to transport you in an alternative time.

Welcome back to the Gated podcast.

Shoutout to all those tuning in to the Gated Unlocked show over on https://www.timeline-music.co.uk especially to Keith, Terry, Tancrede, Dan, Ben, Joe, Melissa, Joy, Mike, Adam, Rin and Tak for the support. 

This month we have the superb talents of Ryan Blackman for you, Influenced by early 90’s sounds  - FSOL, Aphex Twin and Autechre, along with a myriad other UK electronic music artists Ryan ventured into the Techno clubs of London, by the Mid 90’s experiencing Final Frontier(Club UK), Sabresonic, and most significant of all - LOST. He was exposed to luminaries such as Jeff Mills, Steve Bicknell, Claude Young, Jay Denham, Luke Slater, and many others. A connection with these artists that remains strong today.
Throughout the late 90’s to early 2000’s - he went on to play at, and promote, parties across Europe, with much respected DJ’s and Live Acts  such as Underground Resistance, DJ Rolando, Ben Sims, Stacey Pullen, 65D Mavericks and many others.

These days Ryan continues to collect and play electronic music, presenting a broad range of sounds from ambient to hardcore, and a recent highlight for him was closing the “Campfire Stories” podcast series for legendary Canadian label Silent Season. For Gated, Ryan has packed in an hour and a half of incredible dance music, and also mastered by Plant43! (Big shoutout to Emile)
