In the outer reaches of space the station floated effortlessly through the night sky, navigating its way across a dark canvas painted with bright stars. A lost generation of humans had come to inhabit this territory in search of something greater than planet earth had to offer. Here they existed harmoniously alongside different worlds and species, they barely remembered the lives they'd previously led down below on solid ground...

Basic Moves continue their mission to showcase the forgotten corners of electronic music from their home country of Belgium. Making his return to the label for the third time, and the twelfth label release, is Sebastian S. under his Caustic 14 moniker, this time with a batch of exclusive tracks produced between 1993 and 1996. His textural sound shines brightly over the six tracks; a healthy mix of crisp breaks, jungle drum workouts and bleepy electro. To quote the label "these compositions emerged during many sleepless nights spent watching videos of science fiction series such as Babylon 5 or Star Trek, scrutinising each episode while composing. Behind these six pieces are six keywords that have a story: BWP, PK, Network, D-jacking Zone Elypsia, Planet-E and Brussels! Another fantastic release from Basic Moves showcasing the rich history of Belgium.

After running our events at Berlins infamous Wilde Renate for almost two years we thought it would the right time to expand this project.  The first instalment comes from Fufi.SNC, one third behind the SNC crew. Marlon Hoffstadt met the boys a few years ago in Suxul and has been keeping an eye on them ever since.

The release is out January 24th and will be celebrated at Savour The Moments first 2020 event at Wilde Renate on January 11th with an exclusive live set by Fufi.SNC

*** This EP was intended for release before the global health pandemic took off and changed everything. During a time that now feels like years ago - when the wind was hot and the land was on fire...

It feels weird to release music at this time.. our events have stopped and so many people are facing hardship. I thought about this for a while and decided to break from the pattern of the last 2 EPs and release this for 'pay what you want'. I'm financially secure so any money raised from this will still be sent to the charity that was originally intended. I think intention has healing power and therefore I still want to realise this original intention and even extend it to healing these new wounds...

This EP is all about community - the remixes and versions are products of the connections I've shared with people.. now more than ever it's important that we foster our connections with each other. We build resilience in our communities by looking out for each other.

It can be hard to keep positive in a time like this - those feelings are real. It's fine to sit and do nothing. Its fine if you don't have the have the words or the energy.. I'm telling myself these things too.

I hope that listening to this can bring some joy, healing, escape, energy...

100% of the funds raised by this will be donated to WIRES who have been doing an amazing job rescuing and caring for sick, injured and orphaned native animals effected by the Australian bushfires.

This is the last of three EPs that I am releasing to raise funds and awareness in the ongoing struggle for environmental justice.  As we witness the continued colonial dispossession and exploitation of first nations' land - even in the face unprecedented climate change-fuelled catastrophes - I hope that this small action can help even in a minuscule way. As we have already seen in Australia, the Pacific Islands, Indonesia and other places those who are most effected by climate change are animals, women, elderly people, and poor & marginalised people - those who have the least power to do something about it. This is injustice and it will only stop if there is a radical redistribution of power.

 Over the past few weeks I have witnessed and been inspired by the beautiful outpouring of support from artists and the wider community - I genuinely believe that true hope lies in community, that is working class people working with first nations people to restore justice and balance. It is crystal clear that the billionaire class and their politicians will never act in the interest of the majority, or mother earth. No one is coming to save us but us.  The music on this last EP is a selection of unreleased remixes, collaborations and versions that were recorded between 2015-2018. Thank you so much to the people with whom I’ve jammed, exchanged stems with, and who’ve influenced me to take new directions.
