Covered in April 2017. My love for neo-soul was forever growing since listening to artists such as Erykah Badu and Floetry. I had to cover this song because of the chord progression that takes so much control of your soul. SexyÇhoc Movement is coming with these slow jams. Since 2015 I've been planning to do this slow jam EP called "EROS Part 1&2". Until today I'm still writing and writing and I'm hoping that maybe... some sort of neo-soul idea like this one may come into use!

This poem is called 'Novel'. 

This poem is about a man who's eyes encounter what he witnesses as the most beautiful woman that he has seen. The title 'Novel' has been derived from the compliment which states, "If I were to describe how beautiful you are, I would write an entire novel based on it".  (However, you'd like to put it but here's my interpretation) 
Unfortunately for the man, as he begins to fall so deep into what he describes as "a beauty so angelic", he then decides to create a 'novel' based on her looks, with words such as "shining light" and "tender" he begins. He realises that as his book is almost done, he is unhappy with the final edit and is wishing to write so much more (which then tires him out), as her beauty is worth an entire dictionary of words to him. Bringing a whole new meaning to being "Crazy in love" (In no reference to Beyoncé at all).

"Every story has a beginning middle and ending.
But when it comes to writing on one's beauty, the time is worth overspending.

A visual form of therapy to one's eyes.
Containing such splendour that you can't despise.

Sending the most tangible of chills down your spine.
To a stadium of butterflies in your stomach that intertwine.

Page after page you correct and correct.
As there's so much in her angelic image that you forgot to dissect.

From her eyes to her nose, to her cheeks, to her lips.
Similar to a shining white light after a solar eclipse.

From the satisfying sound of the pen walking on paper as you write each definitive word.
To the feel of spelling it out as your sanity flies away like a bird.

With so much detail to engrave, you're then deprived of sleep.
Closed off in a world of tender, yet your mind begins to leap.

As you're then surrounded by her aura, each burden that you hold, you bury with a shovel.
To explain her beauty so natural... you can't help but write a NOVEL."

When making the song, I wasn't in the greatest of spirits like normal. This song was first created on January 11th 2019 with one chorus. Now in June, I have decided to continue my lyrics after experiencing a night out gone wrong along with my fear of travelling alone late at night (as it's one of my biggest pet peeves). These words were only written in one night. 

The idea was to also use synthesisers to go along with an acoustic sound along with vinyl crackles going across the song for a nostalgic feel. This will play a part in my playlist, "Eddi Goma's- 45RPM Sessions" due to come soon. Recording many of my unreleased songs in a "demo" format. This song was inspired by Jess Simmon's beautiful demo, "Drive On"

I Don't Feel So Good (Home Demo)

Hello! My name is Eddi Goma. A singer, songwriter, instrumentalist,  producer and genius in the making. Welcome to this EDDSCLUCIVE playlist. I’ve made the decision to create this because I was in need of something to fill in the waiting gap of my upcoming projects that are due to have commercial release eventually. This playlist consists of never-heard before demos by me spanning from my early days of writing in 2011/2012 until today. This playlist is called “The 45RPM Sessions” because firstly, I admire the sound of vinyl as well as collecting them and secondly, these demos are fresh out the oven with it’s acoustic sound. Some of these demos may be considered worthy for commercial release under my personal judgement however, there are some that will remain as demos as not every song that I write tends to be as strong as some others in my many notebooks but you’ll never know. 
Finally, this is a chance to get to see what’s behind my creative processes and to what my lyrical ideas are and what my genre styles are! ENJOY

A Brief Intro To "THE 45RPM SESSIONS"

“LOVE WASN’T MADE FOR YOU” featuring my baby cousin LONA on synth!

This song was created on August 3rd, 2019 after having a conversation on the phone with one of my friends from university. Reflecting on our first year and our love interests! After that conversation, I was lead into a deep reflection which became a big eye-opener for me. This then lead  me on to write the song… well, one part. The original idea was to make it a whole sad ballad but knowing myself I didn’t want to sound so “cliché” and I didn’t want it to sound so depressing! At the same time, I thought it was a good idea to make it sound like a “lessons learned” kind of song. 

It wasn’t until I began listening to the late Franco Luambo Makiadi’s 21 minute masterpiece, “Nalingaka Yo Yo Te” and many Congolese Rumba songs from the 60s in which I had the idea to change to this style. The idea of using a drum loop with orchestrated drum fills. Changing my guitar to a DADGAD tuning and imitating the guitar solo that Franco would normally do. 30 years after his death (October 12th 1989), I still remain inspired by his works.

A “sebene” is a dance section in the Congolese song structure that is mainly dominated by the sound of hypnotic guitar lines and a driving bassline and headbopping drums.
