Next up on @idlecellars mix series we have a dear friend, legendary Dj, selector and producer @felix-dickinson blessing us with his unique style and effortless flow. Some sweet unknowns and a few lost classics thrown in, a perfect journey from start to finish.

Felix has been part of the UK's underground dance scene for the last 3 decades, learning his trade DJing at free parties and illegal raves and co-founding his first record label Ugly Music in the 90's. He's produced records for well renowned record labels worldwide including DFA, Rush Hour, Eskimo, Golf Channel, Claremont 56, Futureboogie and his own label Cynic.

He has secured slots at well known clubs and festivals across the globe, and the last few years have seen him receive a lot more attention due to his high profile residencies for Block 9 (Glastonbury) and Croatia’s Love International as well as regular appearances at Houghton, Gottwood, Thailand’s Wonderfruit festival and regular tours of Japan, the USA and beyond.

"The brief for this mix was something that you could listen to with a glass of wine in your hand as the sun goes down. It’s a pretty mellow early evening selection, something you can unwind to at the end of the day, but get’s a little more lively as the second and third glass goes down, so could just as easily be something to bung as you’re getting ready to go out."

Seasons greetings! We're closing out 2024 with a selector that perhaps needs no further introduction, but in case you've been living under a rock for the past 15 years, we are extremely excited to present the next Idle Cellars mix by the one and only EDDIE C! Mr. C (NOT THAT ONE) is, in our esteemed opinion, one of the best DJ's in the entire world and we're crazy stoked to have him as the next IC mix for your listening pleasure. Canada-born & Berlin-bred, Eddie has been gallivanting all over the globe as a musical expert in a world of tourists, ready to spread good vibes and his sparkling personality (plus that Canadian politeness we always hear about) to the four corners of the planet. 

His resume is, frankly, ridiculous. As a producer and "editor", Eddie is responsible for countless fantastic releases across disco edit labels like his own RED MOTORBIKE, COMMON EDIT, 7 INCHES OF LOVE, KOLOUR LTD, SLEAZY BEATS, LUMBERJACKS IN HELL and many, many more, plus he's been fully embraced by the Japanese contingent with many releases on MULE sublabel ENDLESS FLIGHT as well as CRUE-L & SOUNDOFSPEED. The man's discography as a producer is as wide as it is deep and he continues to be extremely active with new remixes or originals coming out regularly.

DJ-wise our boy has the chops to be dropped into any situation and rock the party, whether that's at Cafe Del Mar, Panoramabar, the Sunset Campout or dodgy mafia-run nightclubs in deepest Eastern Europe. To put it succinctly, he is...THE MAN. 

We think Eddie C is a perfect closer to our year. With over three decades behind the decks, Scott’s path into DJing came naturally—shaped by a lifelong habit of digging through record shops and an enduring curiosity for music that doesn’t sit still.

Originally active across the UK scene, his sets have left a mark at parties like Got The Bug, Ultragroove, Jack Yer Boots Up, Balearic Social and Shades of Sound. 

His style leans toward the exploratory -a fluid mix of Dub, House, Disco, and Balearica- often shifting gears mid-set and finding unexpected links between tempos and moods.

Eddie C is a Canadian DJ, producer, and vinyl enthusiast known for his warm, groove-driven blend of disco, house, funk, and balearic sounds. Originally from Southern Ontario, Eddie’s musical journey began in the late ‘80s, influenced by hip-hop and the early acid house scene. He started by making tape edits of late-night radio shows and immersing himself in warehouse parties.

His diverse taste and deep record knowledge were honed through years of university radio and 1990s raves, eventually leading him to craft eclectic, soulful DJ sets that span boogie, slo-mo disco, and deep house.

In 2010, Eddie founded Red Motorbike, a vinyl-only label that’s become a cult favorite for its dusty, analog-inspired cuts. His productions and edits have appeared on respected labels like Razor-N-Tape, Endless Flight, and Crue-L Records.

Now based in Vancouver Island - after leaving Berlin in 2020 and being a nomad for three years - he continues to tour internationally, thanks to his soulful, genre-blending sets and unwavering dedication to underground music culture.

Oh! We almost forget to tell you he recently launched his brand-new label, Disko Universal, debuting with an EP in collaboration with Keitano Sano. Don’t miss it!

🎙️ The Young Punx – “Jack This Town” (WPUNX Album Teaser)

In 2026 we will be back on air. Broadcasting from the last surviving radio shack in the wasteland. 

Welcome to WPUNX, a forthcoming concept album about a rogue station still pumping out joy while the world burns. Every track is a different broadcast; every signal a clash of genres that shouldn’t work but somehow does.

“Jack This Town” is the first teaser transmission, here exclusively on Soundcloud (with free DL). At its core it’s a cheesy disco record, big, shiny and grinning, but as always we can’t leave well enough alone. It keeps falling apart and re-assembling itself: live drums, horns, radio stingers, wrong-foot drops, and solos that shouldn’t exist in a dance track but absolutely do. Imagine a block-party tape being chewed by the machine and you’re still dancing anyway.

The Young Punx are back in full mischief mode: funk, house, and satire rolled into one fat groove. This isn’t a single, it’s a flare in the sky to say the new album is coming.
