Eddy Van Raven is a legend in the East Coast dance music scene. DJ, Producer, Promoter, designer and ambassador of
good vibes on the dance floor. Born in Long Island NY just 15 minutes from Manhattan NY, Eddy cut his teeth on the
underground of the New York club scene. His brand of techno combines the simplistic undertones of minimal house and
the driving force hard deep techno. His sets are sprinkled with his passion for ethnic and psychedelic music of all kinds.
Having dj’ed for over 20 years Eddy has taken his craft to dance floors throughout all the major cities in America and in
Germany, Sweden, France, Spain and the Netherlands. Lately, his afterhours series has been met with critical acclaim.
His early involvement in the NY music (punk and hardcore) and skateboard scene landed him a job with Dutch East India record distribution.
This spawned a 15 year career in the music industry. Within this period Eddy helped developed and shape the youth
counter culture music environment by being a integral member of the early American rave scene in 1990’s. As an event
promoter (one of the first rave promoters in the US) , DJ and later, partner of the notorious guerilla marketing team
Joint Ventures (Storm Rave’s official production/promotion team and Americas first fully fledged rave promotion
company) Eddy branded his unique marketing abilities and developed a street marketing team that was un paralleled
in the business at the time. Bringing attendance at rave events in NY which were mere hundreds in 1991 to 7000 by
1994. During this time Eddy was a consultant to many of the well known nightclub, venue and Rave booking agents and
dj’s. He worked on legendary East Coast events such as Storm Rave, Motion, Essence, Layaway, Caffeines (Factory, Natural High, Deliverance), Future, Blue,Yellow, Red with the Slater Bros. and Tom Mellow also produced a myriad of free outlaw and afterhours events around the NY area and promoted over 200 raves and dance parties. That eventually took Eddy to work as the dance music manager for the 90’s mega indie label TVT Records/Wax Trax!
Racords. Leading him to be involved in many blockbuster movie soundtracks such as Blade (RIAA Gold Record Awarded),
Mortal Combat (RIAA Platinum Record Awarded) and Lost In Space (RIAA Gold Record Awarded). Eddy also compiled the
ground breaking complication break beat comp. Big Rocking Beats and was the executive producer on releases by Adam
X, Juan Atkins and Dimitry for Deee Lite . As well as working with remixers and producers such as Frankie Bones, Prince
Quick Mix, Eddie Biaz, Roger Sanchez, and Underworld
Eddy is currently Living in Boston and is finishing up on a ep of original tracks due out this spring.
