Ramin Rezaie returns to Solid Grooves sister imprint Solid Grooves Raw with 'Lucid Dreaming'.

A favourite amongst the Solid Grooves family and an individual at the heart of the imprint under his role as label manager, Ramin Rezaie keeps delivering inside the booth and in the studio as he shapes his clean-cut sound as a DJ and producer on the rise. Having launched his own label Silky Records to open 2022, May sees a welcome return to Solid Grooves Raw as he turns in fresh heat with 'Lucid Dreaming'.

Harnessing his trademark rubbery basslines amongst slick percussion, bright stabs and hypnotic, hazy vocal interjections, 'Lucid Dreaming' delivers yet another early hours roller from the label regular as he continues his ongoing hot streak.

We are proud of having the italian minimal-tech star Yaya for the first release of 2023. Everybody knows his background on labels like Desolat, Kaluki or his own label Tamango but know it's time to his elrow music debut. 'Straight To The Point' is about a relentless groove, raw arrangement and funky bassline, perfect for the dancefloor. De la Swing made a remix focusing the attention in the percussive section, adding new elements and going deeper underground. The Warehouse sees the groove go right up a level to fit right in on a peak level dance floor. Big drums and heavy low end baselines with rolling hi hats feature prominently. Keeping it moving are heavily filtered percussive notes and a dark vocal. Perfect for any underground dance floor.

Moan label bosses Artslaves step up on the B side with the remix. A smooth rolling deeper version that gains movement through the track. Perfect vibes for the night or day party.

Breath-taking from the get go, the lead track West Coast Style truly packs a punch with its hypnotic, raw, dynamic bassline leading the energy of the track with the accompanying enforcing vocal samples letting you now know that this is what ‘west coast style’ really is, whilst the elemental and spacious synth melodies and stabs that surrounds the bassline emits a spellbinding vibrancy that leaves you with further intrigue and mystery.

DJOKO captures this intrigue and mystery that lingers in the original version and reimagines it into this beautiful, heavenly, minimal yet deeply intense remix that gives you this rhapsodic euphoria like you are floating in place whilst joyously raving to its soothing yet melodic structure and depth.

Carrying on this primal, commanding sound from Klein, he concludes the release with another compelling original production entitled 808. Featuring a few TR-808 drum samples with the production, its infectious and captivating groove go hand-in-hand with the bumping and swinging bassline and creamy synth stabs that flow ever so perfectly in tandem.

Eddy’s musical journey began in the town of Palermo in Sicily, Italy, where his love of rhythm and beats saw him play drums in bands since the tender age of twelve. He later graduated to Palermo’s European School of Jazz where he took his talent to the next level by studying piano, guitar and percussion. 

Eddy began producing in 2010, taking inspiration from his classical training and influence from his love for the old school, particularly 90’s hip hop in the form of Cypress Hill, Tribe Called Quest and Ice Cube, to create his own unique form of tech house and techno.
