J Dilla (aka Jay Dee) is widely regarded as one of the greatest hip-hop producers of all time. His influence runs deep — not just through his own music, but in the sound of countless artists who followed him.

Dilla’s genius lay in his ability to make beats that felt both loose and precise, raw and soulful. To put it in perspective, the significance of blog features then is similar to the power of editorial playlist placements in today’s streaming era. While many artists started independently and stayed that way, others eventually signed to major labels—but blogs were still essential. They gave artists leverage by showing they had already built a dedicated fan base online. Nothing matched the immediate exposure a feature on a popular outlet could provide. For fans, blogs offered a new, organic way to discover music. While Napster and Limewire dominated early internet music, they lacked the curation and discovery that blogs brought to the culture... Eden Hagos is an Eritrean-American DJ, producer, and all-around creative force bringing visibility to the genre-defying future sounds shaping the next wave of music. Deeply rooted in underground hip-hop, sample-based production, percussion-heavy rhythms, and future bass, Eden’s unique ear has kept her digging since the day her uncle gifted her a Fugees album at age 16.

With over 20 mixtapes under her belt, Eden’s third installment, Currently, caught the attention of Okayplayer, who dubbed her “a prophet of future sounds.” Her work resonated deeply within the beat scene, sparking collaborations with artists, labels, and community connectors across the creative spectrum.

Driven by a passion for culture and connection, Eden has performed everywhere from underground clubs to international festivals and high-profile fashion events. She’s shared stages with the likes of Snakehips, Anderson .Paak, JMSN, Syd tha Kid, TOKiMONSTA, Sango, and GoldLink — just to name a few.
