The idea for this song came from Brigitte (keyboards) listening to Josanne (vocals) as she talked to her family on the phone. Josanne comes from Trinidad, grew up in Canada and now lives in Germany. Her family is spread all over the world. During these calls it became clear how much everyone across the world is confronted with this strange situation.

We then asked our friends & family to send us brief statements about their situation. We got answers from Panama, New York, China, Mauritius, Africa and Germany.
We also received musical tracks that we processed in this song.

Die Idee zu diesem Song entstand, als Brigitte (Keyboards) Josanne (Voc.) zuhörte, wie diese mit ihrer Familie telefonierte. Josanne stammt aus Trinidad, ist in Kanada aufgewachsen und lebt nun in Deutschland. Ihre Familie ist über die ganze Welt verteilt. Bei diesen Telefonaten wurde greifbar, wie sehr nicht nur wir hier, sondern alle auf der Welt mit dieser merkwürdigen Situation konfrontiert sind. 

Daraufhin haben wir unsere Freunde gebeten, uns kurze Statements zu ihrer Lage zu schicken. Wir bekamen Antworten aus Panama, New York, China, Mauritius, Afrika und aus Deutschland. 
Wir erhielten auch musikalische Tracks, die wir in diesem Song verarbeitet haben.

In den nächsten Tagen wird es hierzu auch noch ein Video geben.

Simon Latham - The Only One (Six Insects remix)

Born in Germany, Edgar Rothermich studied music and sound engineering at the prestigious Tonmeister program at University of Arts in Berlin where he graduated in 1989 with a Master's Degree. He worked as a composer and music producer in Berlin and moved to Los Angeles in 1991 where he continued his work on numerous projects in the music and film industry ("The Celestine Prophecy", "Outer Limits", "Babylon 5", "What the Bleep do we know", "Fuel", "Big Money Rustlas"). 

For the past 20 years Edgar has had a successful musical partnership with electronic music pioneer and founding Tangerine Dream member Christopher Franke. Recently in addition to his collaboration with Christopher,  Edgar has been working with other artists as well as on his own projects. 

In 2010 he started to release his solo records in the "Why Not …" series with different styles and genres. The current releases are "Why Not Electronica", "Why Not Electronica Again", "Why Not Solo Piano"and "Why Not 90s Electronica". This previously unreleased album was produced in 1991/1992 by Christopher Franke. All albums are available on Amazon and iTunes including the latest release in 2012, the re-recording of the Blade Runner Soundtrack

In addition to composing music, Edgar Rothermich is writing technical manuals with a unique style, focusing on rich graphics and diagrams to explain concepts and functionality of software applications under his popular GEM series (Graphically Enhanced Manuals).
