We are delighted to introduce you to another exciting new talent from the underground music community: fatmuska is a DJ from the city of Halle and a member of OG2G, a collective she shares with like-minded musicians and artists. She first came to our attention after contributing to the excellent Callshop Radio show "Whatever Floats Your Boat", hosted by our good friend Sam. Later she gave a strong performance on the infamous II. Row stage at this year's Tarmac Festival. We are happy to give this emerging youngster another step on her way to well-deserved recognition. And this mix certainly has the potential to do just that. Elegantly balanced between thunderous bass and proggy basement bounce, spiced up with an uplifting intermezzo here and a demolition techno moment there. A mix like a colourful but well-chosen bouquet of great variety - just like we like it!

After a few months of creative exile, Surge Curated returns with a brand new podcast by Munich based Kareem El Morr.

Kareem El Morr’s journey into the depths of techno began in the cluttered 90s studio of his cousin, where a mess of Akai MPCs and synth keyboards sparked a lifelong obsession. Since 2006, Kareem has been captivating dance floors as a DJ and pushing sonic boundaries as a producer since 2008.

Specializing in techno, Kareem's sound is a seamless blend of polished grooves and powerful beats, influenced by icons like Ben Klock, Reeko, Mark Broom and Monolake. His tracks, meticulously crafted, oscillate between dark, sinister undertones and vibrant, funky rhythms, always keeping the dance floor in motion.

Kareem’s DJ sets are masterclasses in energy and precision. He digs deep to unearth hidden gems, curating playlists that ensure an electrifying atmosphere. His performances at Rote Sonne, where he holds a residency, and at Blitz Club are renowned for their immersive and intimate vibe.

Not one to conform to the pressures of social media, Kareem lets his music speak for itself. His releases on Ilian Tape, RFR Records, and Molten Moods have garnered acclaim, showcasing his innovative approach to techno. Beyond music, he is balancing his passion with freelance work in film sound design and mixing and mastering.

With a new imprint on the horizon and aspirations for a full-length album, Kareem El Morr continues to surprise and energize, crafting sounds that resonate deeply on the dance floor and beyond.

Orbiting the cosmic specters of techno, trance, house and breaks, Cora’s ever-evolving sound delivers with compelling momentum and astral intuition – superimposing dramatic subplots and emotional undertows onto unfurling rhythmic narratives, while channeling an acute sensitivity to the kinetic desires of the dancefloor.

All-night basement parties in the sleepless underbelly of Hong Kong’s OMA at the fulcrum of the ‘10s initiated Cora’s swift departure from the glitz and glamour of a long-time modelling career and stint as an indie film actor, towards an inspired pursuit of electronic energies and club music catharsis. An intercontinental dance savant, raving from China to Saigon and beyond – Cora has been a vital force in activating meridians between underground club scenes in East Asia and the rest of the world.

Incubated over years of work, sweat and tears at dedicated nightspots The Observatory in Ho Chi Minh City and .TAG Chengdu, her nuanced aesthetic and penchant for ephemeral grooves have now synthesized into a sophisticated style of her own.

After countless days and nights as the last girl on the dancefloor, Cora is one of the emerging talents providing the soundtrack to a city awakened, accelerating at a time where dance music has never been more vital.
