Gudu is excited to welcome Dukwa to the label, with a four-track EP of prime time club workouts that are as powerful as they are tender.

Based in Florence, Dukwa made his name in the mid-to-late 2010s with a series of releases on Numbers, Bosconi, Tdsr and his own Dukwa Music label, picking up top tier support from Annie Mac, Ben UFO, Seth Troxler, Pete Tong and more.

The tracks that make up Matter of Time, Dukwa’s debut for Gudu, are intertwined with his hardware-driven live show, and were developed in tandem with recent live performances. The EP’s lead track ‘Prune’ was born from “playing my Nord, trying to find some cool melodies and basses to add to my live show”, but after Dukwa came across the track’s distinctive bassline, it then formed the starting point to an entire new live set.

Likewise, ‘VoX’ stemmed from a happy studio mistake: in Dukwa’s words, “when I recorded the first loop of the bassline, I thought I played with impeccable timing - but it wasn’t!”, but the off-beat live programming turned out to be a revelation, and the track’s wonky feel became its distinctive calling card. Elsewhere, Dukwa describes ‘Jeopardize’ as “his first ‘close-techno’ track” since his 2015 collaboration with Herva (“I love it because it was unexpected and powerful in the same way”), while the EP’s closing track ‘Nuvola’ stemmed from an internal conversation about taking his music “deeper and simpler”, leading to one of Dukwa’s most melodic and emotional tracks yet.

As with all of Dukwa’s music, everything on Matter of Time feels thick and textural but most importantly human, full of natural movement and rhythm. In his words, “complexity is not always the best choice you can take in music - but it’s an art to make complex music feel simple and enjoyable.”

Featuring LA based vocalist and songwriter Cor.Ece, serene piano chords and elevated horns pair with Cor.Ece's warm, buttery vocal for a record brimming with depth and soul. Smouldering and poetic, the record bears influence of the house anthems of Honey's youth from artists such as Lil Louis and Danny Tenaglia, while lyrically embodying protest, as Honey told the New York Times, "It's about standing up for your belief system."

13th September sees the prolific British house and techno DJ/producer Mark Broom and Snatch! Records’ esteemed label boss Riva Starr combine to deliver their first collaborative single under the guise of Star B entitled ‘Gotta Have You’.

This essential maiden collaboration follows previous Snatch! releases from the likes of Steve Bug, Parris Mitchell, Nina Kraviz, Arthur Baker, Green Velvet, Groove Armada and CamelPhat plus Broom’s very own ‘The Way’ EP earlier this year.

Both Starr and Broom are prolific producers and have been igniting dancefloors all over the world for many years with their unique club-ready productions, but now the time has come for both artists to merge their unparalleled studio prowess and experience to create ‘Gotta have You’ - their outstanding debut record.

‘Gotta Have You’ announces Star B in style, serving up a stomping peak time disco house workout which utilises a stimulating funk/soul sample set to an infectious groove which oozes summer vibes right from its core. Between doing a remix with Salt’n Pepa’s original 16-track tapes of ‘Push it’, classical training at a conservatory, playing 5 instruments, founding, releasing records and touring with Indie pop band ‘The Jeremy Days’ in the 80’s, experiencing first hand the birth of acid house, rave and progressive techno, while living in London and Germany in the 90’s, you could certainly say Triggerstrøm has a wealth of experience.

Ask him why that matters in terms of his work as a DJ and you’ll get an answer like: "Because it helps to understand oneself and, with that, the people you play for - oh, and because it is actually a blast!”

Deftly balancing a challenging, yet highly intuitive eclecticism, his live sets are founded in House, Nu-Disco, Afrobeats, IDM, Electronica and Progressive House.

“When I go out to dance, I am hungry” he explains, “hungry for love, freedom, movement and inspiration. If the music of that night feeds some of those cravings and with that those of the audience and listener, I consider it a great night"

His all time fave car that he owned was a white 1979 SAAB 900S and also the same color coded ADIDAS basketball sneakers that matched it. 
He fears the depths of the oceans as much as he finds humor in awkward situations due to cultural differences. 
The less-is-more approach to food, music, architecture and design turns him on. 

Bulgarian-born, raised in Germany. Resident the past 10 years in Los Angeles, via London, NYC and Miami. Played the legendary Golden Pudel in Hamburg and also entertains private events. 

Triggerstrøm is currently resident DJ at Bar Stella in Silver Lake, Los Angeles
