Hannah Wants unveils Ghetto EP on DFTD, a return to her edgier, bass-heavy roots with two distinct tracks designed for the club. Hannah’s trajectory throughout 2023 was signposted by performances at flagship events including Defected Croatia, Defected’s Australasian Tour and The Warehouse Project. After a string of releases showcasing her more emotive side on the London house label, Hannah Wants now returns to the bass house sound she helmed for over a decade, releasing Ghetto EP on sister label DFTD. The first of two deeper, headsier cuts, ‘Ghetto’ offers relentless club energy, with deep, percussive synths that hammer away underneath expressive audio sampling. ‘Let The Beat Talk’ follows, featuring frequent Plump Records collaborator Baby Luck on cool vocals, with its hard and tough sound shaking the floor as high frequency synths bubble overhead.
