MÉTIER is the new label from Jack! Who? and his UK based deathtechno.com project that is set to journey into deep, dreamy, dub, techno, acid, electro and ambient that will surprise and delight from release to release.

Collage artwork images are by local artist Grassi Art.

Inaugurating the first EP is Dusicyon aka William Arist whose vast production styles have been released on Marco Faraone's UNCAGE, On Edge Society, DEAD CERT. Records and remixed by Roberto / Fossil Archive for example.

"Atmospheric Saga I" eases in with a lighthearted, spacey vibe of melodic xylophone hits followed by deep chords that expertly captivate the mood over warm, rolling drums.

Second up "Atmospheric Saga II" opts for a more jovial, jackin' beat and bassline that is perfectly contrasted with its harmonic drones filling the speakers with dreamy textures.

Closing with "Atmospheric Saga III" and a more considered journey of sound, painting pictures of soaring above coastlines while also firmly grounded in funk with the pristine shaker licks.

Empirical Distress - Gaze Upon Thethys (Incl. YUKIMASA and Traversable Message Remixes) [NWR023]

The second release of 2021 welcomes Empirical Distress to the No Way Records’ family. A four tracker EP including a Remix from YUKIMASA and Traversable Message. Ideally we can split the album in two parts, the first sees “Rhea Intercore” and “Floating On Dione Plains” with their meditative electronic music soaked with IDM sounds, where rhythmic is maintained strong and incisive in both tracks. Instead, on the second half “Gaze Upon Tethys” and “Paaliaq Landing” take the listener to a more club-focused atmosphere, with theirs syncopated drum machines, ethereal synths, as well as hypnotic and wrapping basslines. Traversable Message’s take on “Paaliaq Landing” gives the track a firm and distinctive twist to the overall rhythm, meanwhile Japanese artist YUKIMASA transform the title track into pure monolithic, hypnotic, cosmic techno.
