ABOUT edIT:

From humble beginnings on the Los Angeles underground to world tours of sold-out arenas, Edward Ma has seen it all in a career that now spans more than 15 years. Starting off as The Con Artist in the late 1990s, Ma produced for rappers such as Busdriver, P.E.A.C.E and Sole while holding a residency at Konkrete Jungle, where drum n bass and hip hop were spun side by side to hungry ears. In 2003, Ma reshaped himself as edIT. The next year he debuted with Crying Over Pros For No Reason on seminal UK label Planet Mu. The album melded together Ma's love of hip hop, drum n bass and experimental electronic music, a fusion that would presage hip hop's return to its electronic roots by the end of the decade. Crying Over Pros… sounded like nothing else at the time. It sounded like the future and it would put Ma on the path of his next evolution. In 2006 he co-founded The Glitch Mob, a project that would ultimately take over his solo work by 2010. Today the Mob inhabit a unique position in the dance music world, the roots of which go back to the sonic experiments of Crying Over Pros… Ten years on, the album is being reissued on limited edition vinyl and as a digital bundle with an extra five tracks from the original sessions. Its emotive power hasn't faded one bit and its relevance has only increased as the future it hinted at became the present we now live in.

There we go again. Finally, Cuthead returns with the long awaited follow-up to his “Brother EP”. His new record “Everlasting Sunday” surely fulfils some dreams as it is packed with no less than nine tracks. Three catchy House tunes on the A-Side and six Hip-Hop-jams on the B-side make for a very extended EP or a mini-album ... the choice is up to you!
Right at the beginning we start with the sample-heavy “Maputo Jam”, a tune in classical Cuthead-manner with its irresistible drumming full of stumbling blocks and layers of sweet synth-melodies. “Nautic Walking” is a straighter House track with a guitar line and clapping samples but that bass line quickly reminds you whom you’re listening to. “Minerals” starts off pretty deeply before evolving from a jazzy House affair into an almost orchestral tune with opulent strings.
The flipside is an extensive expression of Cuthead’s inexhaustible love for Hip-Hop. There is feel-good material like “Everlasting Sunday” and “Deep Shadows” as well as banging joints like “Calculator Watch” with all the typical Cuthead-trademarks: sick bass work, stammering drumming and imaginative sampling.

Katuchat is at it again with his new EP “Lonely Cloud”. 

If you have enjoyed our bio’ of Katuchat, you will love listening to this EP. It is, without a doubt, a big step forward into the stylistic evolution of our young artist. 

He has kept his unique Japanese inspiration, mixed it up, twisted it up and it came across even better than anything we’ve previously heard from him. The serenity that comes out of his productions is a sweet pleasure that you don’t ever want to stop.  

You will also recognize Katuchat’s trademark beats and rain-filled percussions, but this time it’s in a collab’ with our homeboy Andrea. These guys make you hang in there and wish for more. There’s an old-school / new school touch to it. You get a sense of waves crashing on a beach. And as you know “water can flow or it can crash”. It’s very refreshing to say the least.

The collab’ with Rusty Hook takes another timeless dimension. The of serenity from Pink Lemonade is here only to be broken with Fresing’s mix that puts a darker, more underground, shade on his work. The tribal percussions will make your body bounce to every beat.
