We will all agree that Bretagne is the next Marseille (aka the French alternos place-to-be) right? Grey sky, periwinkles in the plate, cider in a glass. Low tide, high tide, low tide. Great music sometimes, drinking binges often.
That being said, can we now focus and imagine what would sound like a Breton teuf anthem? Well, actually no need to wonder as it already exists and is about to be published on Éditentités, with René Danger's forthcoming 'Randonerd' EP. 
As a faithful Breizh boy, René invites you to a wild hike in the northwest landes, supercharged with DJ Rustic Widow breaks over this traditional melody adaptation, for a great remix that we are pleased to feature today.

For this new Breton release, Editentités is proud to welcome transe ar gwez from Rennes, delivering four remixes paying tribute to the diverse and engaging discography of musician and composer Roland Becker. 

By collaborating with other artists, but more importantly on his solo albums, Roland Becker used his deep knowledge of Breton culture and music to explore and experiment different styles and practices: celtic jazz (Fallaën, 1982), ethnomusicology and song collecting (Jour de fête & fête de nuit, 1995), electronic music (Chants dans la nuit - Kanou an noz, 2008), Breton folklore and popular melodies (Immrama, 2010)… Tracks Locqueltas, Bortifaouen et Mané Guen are taken from this last record, while Kan Dek is built from a bonus section of the album Chants dans la nuit - Kanou an noz.

Eventually, Roland Becker himself explains it best: “Breton music, if it can be summed up, is just a note. The rest is a pretext.”

Les DJ sets de Juna XXL sont un prétexte pour écouter ses dernières obsessions. Amateur des répertoires dub, geek de grunge et downtempo enthusiast, il rejoint aussi l’autre bouts du spectre des bpms avec ses édits d’hyperpop et ses tracks préférées de makina. Juna est impliqué dans différents projets comme le festival Gofildren, il est membre du projet de radio éphémère Ondorphine, co-créateurs du label Editentites et programmateur de l’antenne parisienne de Lyl radio.
