Three sanguine slices of dub techno from Glasgow-based wunder Conna Haraway. And featuring XENIA REAPER providing vibes and synths on the lush long elevation "Redirect" that sits on the record’s A side.

Shifted follows on from Spatial Fix; Conna’s first solo 12” in March ’25 that released on Theory Therapy. Where that EP was a dense and rich web of texture and atmosphere across the two long sides, this one focuses in on forms of propulsion and a patient, silvery endlessness.

A side track "Redirect" was cut from a longer Sunday night session with XENIA REAPER. Two laptops Ableton linked, chilling in the flat in Glasgow. The amazing synth line is all XENIA, everything else is Conna; looping the synth & bass for about an hour and bringing other elements in and out. The final tune is gorgeous, floating in the blissful ether before the sub and pulse kicks through. Eleven and a half minutes of enveloping pressure, refreshment and delight.

"Detach" and "Duration" both turn to a rediscovered love for 4x4 techno and an experiment in a more classic and subtle sound from the perspective of a producer who might be expected to take bigger emotive and experimental swings that follow the patterns of contemporary ambient and bass. The result is beautiful and delicate vectors of music, satisfyingly easy to slide into a set. Swung techno filled with detail and poise. Tunes that can scale and transform and sit in a sort of home listening club track zone. After hours nrg.

First of all, I’d like to thank you for the opportunity — I really like you all.
I’m Sandro, I’m a painter and I occasionally DJ as well. I’m part of the Tundra collective and I’ve recently started making music — and that’s thanks to you, as Living Room influenced me a lot. Thank you for that!

a. I’m not sure, but it definitely gives me a lot of chills.

q. what’s the best way to enjoy your mix?
a. Looking at the sea — or whatever way you feel most in tune with while listening :)

q. describe a favourite object in your living room...
a. it’s an old piece of furniture where my mother kept all kinds of stuff, and those things are still inside.

q. are you working on any projects right now (music or not music)?
a. Yes, I’m currently working on a painting about my uncle who passed away recently, and I would also like to dedicate this mix to him, as I love him.

“Recently, I’ve been really inspired by bass music in the 80-85 (or 160-70) BPM range that shifts between slow and fast registers, opening up space for a deep interior journey and for a driving, percussive dancefloor experience alike. Much music in this space that I’m drawn to has a visceral, haptic, and earthy quality -- body music for mental landscapes. 

The mix is conceived as a journey into a densely foliated forest of ever-shifting dimensions, drawing you deeper and deeper into its cavernous shadows and spectral pockets of light. Dewdrops shiver on pillowy moss ,flanked by the hungry mouths of carnivorous plants; burly vines dangle low and heavy under velvet leaves. Mysterious and heretofore unknown flora abound, beguiling you with their sensuous textures, suffusing the humid air with smells both luxuriant and noxious. Finally you emerge into a softly-hued meadow, your journey into the darkness having brought you closer to a sense of calm.”

DJ Papaya's approach to mixing draws upon downtempo, ambient, leftfield electronics, and bass music to craft surreal and emotionally complex narratives, rich in texture and rooted in the sensibilities of dub. Bergsonist is the moniker of Moroccan-born, New York-based producer, DJ, experimental musician, and multi-disciplinary artist Selwa Abd. Constantly working on music, she has issued several albums and dozens of EP ranging from gritty industrial techno often incorporating Middle Eastern rhythms and samples, to abstract sound design composed for art installations. She is the founder of artistic platform Bizaarbazaar, was a member of the Discwoman collective, and has hosted a monthly program on NTS Radio since 2018. In addition to numerous self-issued recordings, she has released music on labels like Clan Destine (2017's From Dualism to Monism) and Optimo Music (2020's Middle Ouest). In 2024, she released As If Reality, an experimental album created during her artist residency at ISSUE Project Room, as well as the more techno-leaning full-length Maghreb
