This mix intends to act as a warm up pre-party set and is also the first part of a 3  hour long set I will be playing. I draw inspiration from Middle Eastern and African sounds, in an effort to nuance my electronic set.

Exercise 001 – calmer

In this second second part of my first set, I go remarkably harder. I still recur to African and Middle Eastern sounds – there are also a few Spanish influences – mostly in the beginning of the set.

Exercise 002 – harder

In this mix, I explore what disco could mean for me, still parting from legends in the genre like Kerri Chandler and Daft Punk. Also, I completely fuck up at the very end hahaha.

An exercise where I play around with some songs I've gathered that make me reminisce the days in Kenya. Deeper tribal tech sounds play a central part in this set.

At this open air, I had the privilege and pleasure of bringing the African and Kenyan heat to a cold and rainy Sweden, Norrköping. One of my hardest yet one of the more emotional sets I've ever played. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did!

My set from the latest pop-up market at the coffee house 'Babettes' in Linköping, Sweden. 

I can proudly (if his politics would have been reasonable) say that the Swedish prime minister has heard me play. When I saw him, I changed song to the Norrköping based artist 'Dirtytwo's' latest track 'Embrace'. Maybe some caring politics implicitly entered his mind as a result. One can at least hope so! 

Other than that, the struggle was real trying to look at all the nice stuff, get some Swedish 'fika' whilst mixing properly, leading to some blunders haha.

Babettes pop-up market, Linköping 15/10-2023

In light of the conflict between Israel and Palestine, the process of planning and recording this set was accelerated. This set is heavily influenced by Middle Eastern sounds and is my way of paying tribute to what seems to be a majestic, generous and beautiful culture. I find the discourse which equates terrorists with ordinary warm-hearted people to be both generalising and despicable...

Rest in peace everyone whose lives have been lost due to Hamas' careless actions and the IDF's ruthless responses, which are backed up by large parts of the west – not least the US.

Oriental Tech

My debut set at The Alchemist as well as in Nairobi from this Thursday when I opened the AURA event. Enjoy my Gs and massive thanks to AFU for the opportunity.

Started playing at 8.30 in the morning to energise the club competition and its participants at CrossFit Bromma, Stockholm. Organised by my dear friend Albert, this was one for the books. Not least to play hard techno through morning eyes haha. 

PS. Basically my first power mix. Valuable lessons were drawn and much much fun. Sudden genre changes were to agree with either full on exercise, or recovery, during the competition.
