If you're someone who gravitates to hypnotic basslines and vocals that hit you right in your core, KINGDM is an artist who needs to be on your radar. This Italian DJ and producer developed his love for music early on in his life and carries those influences with him to this day. First falling in love with the piano and classical artists like Chopin, he later developed a passion for rock music and inevitably, electronic as well. This pushed him to begin producing his own music and the result has been a number of stunning singles that bridge the gap between dance music and pop.

Since he began to release his own music, KINGDM has seen the likes of Zane Lowe and Annie Mac sing his praises and his tunes have graced some of the most influential radio stations as well. The past few years have seen him deliver collaborations like "Mexico" with Bipolar Sunshine, "FRFR" with Reo Cragun and Rowlan, as well as solo work such as "Dance for Me" and "Tear." More recently, he caught the ear of mau5trap who signed his vibe-inducing house tune "Together." Featuring a mesmerizing progressive bassline and vocals that are dripping with emotion, it's a solid jam to play during the earliest days of fall.

HPNOTIC has been holding it down for the hardstyle scene in America. Over the year's she's played major events like Basscon Wasteland and Escape Psycho Circus and releasing tunes like "Move Your Body" with Kamikaze on Keeping The Rave Alive. America isn't the only place she's seen success as she's been all over the world bringing her hypnotizing sound to the biggest stages including Defqon. 1, Q-base, and Hard With Style. 

When asked about the Hard Dance scene in the US, HPNOTIC was very excited about its growth. She explained that audiences in the US are more open to hybrid styles of music and spoke on the collaborations that have ensued. "I see more and more artists from different genres collaborating with hard dance artists, as well as hard dance artists taking influences from other genres," HPNOTIC said. "I’m excited about this evolution! I think creativity comes from combining different things together. Diversity will continue to bring hard dance to the next level." 

On February 26, HPNOTIC is scheduled to take the stage at Basscon Wasteland - and to celebrate the return of the festival she stopped by to spin an exclusive mix for our Paradigm Shift series. Her mix gives fans a taste of her 'HPNOTIC' style and features plenty of homegrown talent including Lucky Rabbit, Lady Faith, Talon, RIZE, and a special unreleased treat as well.

"Hard dance music literally changed my life and it’s a huge part of my identity. There is a countless amount of influence it has on my life. My love and passion for hard dance music has pushed me to achieve unimaginable things such as moving to Amsterdam and Los Angeles, as well as connecting with thousands of people all around the world. I can’t imagine myself existing without it. With hard dance music, I feel like I can be myself, free from external pressure. I’ve been dedicated to my HPNOTIC project for over a decade now."

Paradigm Shift 002 || HPNOTIC [Road To Basscon Wasteland]

Since his first release in 2018, FADEAD has held it down for the hard dance scene in the Bay Area and beyond. While he specializes in powerful euphoric records like "Need You Here" and "Without Me," he can also throw down some heat in different styles. Over the past few years, he's had two dubstep/hardstyle hybrid collaborations with Stryer, showing his versatility and ability to adapt no matter the situation.

FADEAD kicked off 2022 in a big way as he was a part of the launch for NRG Records with "Into The Fire," which saw him utilizing the hard psy sound and creating a fine line between euphoric hardstyle and rawstyle. When asked about the hard dance scene in America, he felt that there's going to be a major breakthrough soon. "With the more exposure the EDM community gets from [hard dance], the more of a chance it has of becoming a bigger market compared to how it is at the moment," he said. "Deep down… everyone comes around sooner or later, and I am honored to be a part of its upbringing in America."

Looking to keep the momentum going, he stopped by to spin up a guest mix on our hard dance mix series, Paradigm Shift. Without spoiling too much, this mix includes four unreleased tunes, where three of them belong to FADEAD, along with a multitude of the latest and greatest hard dance tunes from Europe. The Bay Area producer also shows love to plenty of homegrown artists, so fans will hear tunes from KAMI, Quarkee, and TYEGUYS throughout its runtime.

FADEAD has earned himself a spot as one of the producers that are contributing to the recent growth of hard dance music and you're not going to want to miss him on his way to the top. Over the past year, a unique crossroads has surfaced between the fitness and hard dance communities. Thanks to social media platforms like TikTok, the harder styles have found their way into countless viral fitness videos, and it's unlike anything the scene has seen before. While there's no official genre name for this type of hard dance that has captivated the fitness community, it's been dubbed "Fuarkstyle" as an homage to community member Zyzz, and Dionysus is helping lead the charge.

Of all the new producers making this new genre, Dionysus has undoubtedly been a standout. Multiple originals and bootlegs of his have reached millions of streams on SoundCloud and Spotify, even though he just started out last year. There's no doubt he's creating something unique, and now with a brand-new team, expect to see his name start dotting hard dance lineups in the US and beyond.

Looking to get more insight into this rapid-growing community and subgenre, we caught up with Dionysus to discuss his backstory, the rapid success his producing career has seen, and the project's future. David Rust has been crafting beats for over a decade and has earned his spot as a highly respected member of the trance music family. He lives on the dark side of the trance token, creating shockwaves on the dancefloor with massive tunes like "The Beat," "All You Give" alongside Renegade System, and "303" with Olly James. With a knack for shooting energy through the roof, fans are always left vibrating for his next release. With a bit of every music genre imaginable as his muse, crawdad sniper first brought his talents to the bass music scene in 2021. He has since gained well-deserved recognition and love that have only since snowballed in 2023. Based in Washington, D.C., crawdad sniper is not one to take genre boundaries (or anything in life) too seriously. His music nods to countless styles, from classic rock to indie psychedelic sounds. Fans can't help but appreciate the original and funny branding that goes along with weirdly wonderful sounds, which are exactly what you'll hear in his sound-design-focused and bass-filled discography.

This year has been full of wins for crawdad sniper, who has released two EPs with plenty of singles and SoundCloud bootlegs in between. Among them is his popular take on "Butthole Surfers" by Pepper, which takes the trophy of his most-listened track on SoundCloud. He's gotten to show off his groove-heavy flair on some crispy sound systems recently, from Sound Haven's mainstage to Elements Festival's Wub Hub stage. With upcoming performances at Submersion Festival and Autumn Revival still ahead of him, 2023 undoubtedly marks a breakout year as he hooks more fans at every stop.

Some magic in the dance music scene happened when NITTI and Party Favor put their minds together to form SIDEPIECE. Since first joining forces, the duo has not only dropped Grammy-nominated tunes for the masses to groove out to, but they've continued to deliver some of the most fun-loving sets that house music lovers can shuffle away to all day and night.

While much of 2024 has been quiet so far, SIDEPIECE kicked themselves into full gear on the release front by dropping a fresh tune with another hot house artist, San Pacho. If you want quality techno grooves, then Alfred Heinrichs is the man for you. This year, he dropped tunes like "If You," "Easy Come Easy Go," and "In Liebe Mit Mir" for the masses to consume. While these tunes all landed on Supdub Records, he couldn't stay away from I AM MELODIC TECHNO for too long, and he released "Regenbogenbrücke (Let Them Go)" to satiate that craving earlier this month.

As the fall months kick into gear, Alfred Heinrichs dropped off a mix that encapsulates the season's vibes. "Let the rhythm guide you through the heat, where every beat becomes a memory and every moment, a melody," he said about the techno-fueled mix.

Drum and bass artist SIREN is taking the scene by storm with her dynamic sound. Hailing from the UK, this DJ and producer gained momentum over the past few years after releasing some fantastic tunes and performing wicked sets in Australia, New Zealand, and the US while getting nods from BBC Radio 1 and the Drum and Bass Awards along the way.

SIREN has only continued to impress in 2024 with a debut at Red Rocks and notable bookings throughout the US, UK, and Europe. On the release front, her latest single, "Dimension," saw her team up with Mila Falls to deliver an impactful soundscape that fully displays her hard-hitting sound. If you're searching for an artist who will sweep you off your feet and carry you into a soundscape of their own creation then melodic house artist Rylan Taggart is someone you should definitely tune into. Based out of Vancouver, he's released plenty of tunes that continually put listeners in a bliss-like state while also gaining the support from major artists in the scene like Above & Beyond and Lane 8.

Riding the impressive offering of tracks with Jerro, "Signal" and "Memories Never Die", along with solo tune "Peggy" on This Never Happened that closed 2018 out perfectly, he has shown no signs of slowing this year. Continuing to build on his body of work, he whisked us away to a far off desert with the release of "Petra" on Elliptical Sun and double-downed with a Spring Mix that we've had on repeat for weeks.

Few people embrace life quite like Ravenscoon. The San Francisco-based producer draws on all of his experiences, good and bad, to create his signature "beautiful chaos" sound that has bass music fans on notice in 2020. Despite the unprecedented change in the music industry over the past few months, he has enjoyed considerable success.

This year has seen the release of "Dirty South," a wild bass-driven collaboration with Viskus, back in February and played multiple shows before the flurry of cancellations due to COVID-19. Aside from his music-making prowess, many have come to appreciate Ravenscoon's openness on social media. He's not afraid to speak his mind, becoming a beacon of authenticity in a largely superficial digital world.

So when the opportunity to chat with Ravenscoon presented itself, we couldn't help but jump on the opportunity. Additionally, his guest mix is a perfect example of "beautiful chaos" as he explores different tempos, rhythms, and sound design in an hour of mind-bending, genre-defying music. Anyone who appreciates bass should listen to this mix, it truly has something for everyone!

If you been paying close attention to artists who have been making waves in the techno scene as of late then there's no doubt that Weska should be an artist who you've come across. Born in Canada but now based out of Germany, he's been gaining some serious support over the past few years with releases on labels like Drumcode and Octopus Recordings.

This year has already seen Weska embark on a new journey as well with his self-released Waves series picking up momentum with his recent third edition. But that wasn't enough to satiate his cravings for releasing absolute tunes as today, he's gifted us all with a free download of his "Don't Think" edit.

Originally crafted by renowned The Chemical Brothers, Weska reworked the tune so that it would fit seamlessly in his own sets. The result? Pure techno goodness. His spin has been perfect to listen to in nearly any setting whether it be your own living room or a massive stage at Creamfields where Adam Beyer and Cirez D played it out for a crowd of thousands.
