Jesse Kiis – The Heist

Finland born up and comer Jesse Kiis has delivered some serious funk in his Sosumi Records debut.

“The Heist” has been snatched up by Kryder’s imprint and is making a statement that rough edge anthem EDM with big drops can be pushed aside for a sound that evokes house rocking, ass shaking groove.

Aptly named The Heist, Jesse Kiis makes you feel like you are riding in the back of a car that’s being chased through the streets of your home town right after you robbed a bank.

Pumping bass lines, filtered vocals, massive drums and a super funky main lead keeps the gas pedal to the floor, letting up only to break for the turn around.

The track deceptively begins with smooth and bubbly synths, but quickly asserts itself with the introduction of the drums all the way up to the bomb blast of a drop. Draped in groove, the funky synth takes centre stage in energising the crowd developing into an effortless rolling effect, alluding to the perfect place for this record to do the business for the dancefloor, the main stages.

The fall is in full swing and Sosumi Records continues the playlist
onslaught with the latest track from Promise Land – Let the Groove. On now their second release with the label the guys from Italy switch the script and deliver a tribal laced, bumping, grooving peak time destroyer of a record.
The drums begin from the outset building into a thumpy kick until the chant worthy breakdown entices the crowd to ‘Let the Groove’ get in before the climactic drop brings all the previously mentioned elements together in an anthemic ensemble of percussion and ‘feel’ only describable by a physical reaction, whether bumping of the head, rolling of the shoulders or stomping of the feet.  Sosumi aren’t finished for the year just yet!
