Ed Sappin currently serves as the CFO of Northwestern Innovation Works. Prior to this role, Sappin operated as founder and CEO of Sappin Global Strategies, a firm that invests in and advises groups in energy and global innovation. Sappin Global Stategies focuses on innovative companies with green initiatives that are able to scale to worldwide markets. 

In addition to his leadership in finance and strategy, Ed Sappin is a frequent media contributor and has been featured by the Washington Post, Wired, CNBC, and Roll Call.

Ed holds a Master of Arts from the Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at The Johns Hopkins University. He also earned a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. 

Ed is a passionate volunteer and remains active with the Asia Society, UJA and the Wharton and SAIS alumni networks. 

He lives in New York City with his wife and children.
