I record songs I didn't write in 1-2 takes on GarageBand using an MXL 990 condenser microphone (cheap). Sometimes I record the instruments separately from the vocals. Sometimes I don't care and I record both at the same time. Sometimes I use fake instruments. Sometimes I use a metronome, but mostly I don't. Then I slap on effects without really tweaking them. Then I post them on here, post the link once on my Facebook, and forget about it.
