ESS23 - Melodic Vibes

The first Kaskade Redux set I saw was at Academy LA, Sunsoaked Week in 2018. That was the tipping point for me in terms of wanting to learn how to dj. That night honestly changed my entire perception of what a club could feel like. It was as if it all made sense suddenly. 

We drove out last minute early to go to that show. When we googled the venue and saw the screens on the ceiling we thought it was going to be a crazy big production. When we got there the room was entirely dark during the openers and the majority of Kaskade's set, especially early. Just a loud system, a great vibe, and perfectly timed punctuations of lights and lasers. 

Since then, I've realized a lot of the sounds I like, aesthetics I like, and so much of my influence was created in that moment. A special night, and one that the best nights since often conjure feelings of. Over the years since, some of the best dj sets I have experienced have been the openers at Redux club shows, it's a special feeling and vibe.   

Anyways, the second Redux we saw in a club was in Denver at the Church and Kaskade opened with this track. It was my only idea for this week's episode was to start with I Feel You Sunsoaked Mix. I wanted to keep it in the theme of Poolside Margaritas, but I also wanted to play so many of the tracks, sounds, and artists I discovered through those Redux shows. 

I hope you like this deep, vibey episode of Poolside Margaritas. Sometimes it's late night by the pool and you're just riding out the wave of a beautiful day.
