Acid Paui and I had so  much fun recording this cover of Springsteen's I'm on Fire.  Acid Pauli  then mashed  it with Lake Powel's stunning "Bright Eyes Dirty Hair" as he mixed his Get Lost 5 compilation.  A tune ever present in my sets this year.

Last year, a very friendly and talented frenchman contacted me about remixing his band's hit, HOPE.  He sent me an amazing video of the song and I immediately agreed to the remix.  I have stayed in close touch with that wonderful Frenchie from across the pond.  This is a testament to the power of music and it's ability to bring worlds together.

The exotic ‘Sombra India’ gets to works with slick guitar licks and a driving beat, enhanced with powerful and captivating vocals from Eduardo Castillo. Already a firm favourite of Damain Lazarus and Luciano, this has been getting a huge response on dance floors this summer. Eduardo Castillo’s music encompasses his depth in the study of the industry and influences stemming from a South American and European upbringing.  His studies in music composition, orchestration and opera provide him with a vast understanding of harmonies, dynamics and musical textures.  Eduardo uses a subtle ethnomusicologist’s approach to music.  His record collection reads like a music history book.  In fact his eclecticism is quite enticing.  Sounds of Jazz, Avant –Garde, Middle Eastern, South American, Afro-Cuban folk, Soul, Funk, and electronic minimalism, can be heard in his compositions, his singing, his dj sets, and his playing of instruments, whether in their pure form or intertwined with down, mid and up-tempo electronic treatments.  
Ultimately, simplicity is what Eduardo strives for.  An effort is always made to have a fresh organic sound while inevitably providing touches of technological advances shaping music today, never overwhelming and always sophisticated and tasteful.

Eduardo's mission is to always become a storyteller from beginning to end. Every record he plays has a very important intention. The music in his selections does not just fill time, it weaves in and out with dynamic and texture. The music, and his improvisational live remixing, are brush strokes on a canvas that once he's reached the end, will look like a world of realism and fantasy all in one. I'm reading a fantastic book at the moment entitled, "Cosmic Serpent" by Jeremy Narby.  In it, is the story of a man that leads the reader through unexplored and uncharted jungles of anthropological studies, biology and the limits of rational thought.  
This collection of musical pieces have served as a soundtrack of sorts, while immersed in the exploration of what is possible beyond what we think we know.
My hope is that the listener is able to time travel with the set, weaving in and out of primal, calm and ritualistic emotional states.

I've always wanted to play the Cello Song very late night/early morning but really wanted to still maintain a bit of energy.  I wanted to put together a transitional piece from the late thump in to the early soothing.  This one track came out of a mix from a live set.

Inspired by our dear Bogdan (violin) born in Serbia and raised in a war torn country.  As I imagined his childhood , and the sounds of the terror, I also envision him playing this beautiful and haunting violin and singing, doing all he can to put war behind him and allowing peace to reign in the hearts of his people.  Bogdan, is not only a source of immeasurable inspiration for me, but also one of the most humble and real humans I have had the honor of knowing. Listen as he loses himself in his instrument and emotions, never however, losing the intensity of his intention.  to accompany him is the powerful voice of a gifted woman born to express herself through singing. I have had the honor of working with her several times and each time, she elevated any experience to new heights.  I feature Pasale Caristo on this piece. What a surreal existence we are all sharing at the moment.  Time is standing still now it seems.  The wait for an answer. The wait for the light at the end of tunnel, wherever we may be.   

I often think of my life pre corona virus and I feel it took, place ages ago.  In some other distant time when almost everything was a given.   Not now though.   

Only thing that is a given now is the power of love. 

The power of compassion. 
The power of empathy.  
The power of inwardness. 

The power of realizing that nothing is ever to be taken for granted.  

The power of gratitude.    

We are in a part of the world that allows us to suspend our reality here and there.  I plunge in the ocean as if the water is oxygen. Every drop on my body reminds me to breath the air.  To be present and to remember that the water I feel is the same water someone else feels on the other side of the seemingly infinite horizon.  
But it’s not infinite.  Nothing is.  
Only love.  
Love is infinite.  
Love is everything. 

And so is music.  

 It is what has brought me all thats is pure in my life.   
That is true.  
This is why you’re listening now. 
This is why it’s never more important to feel, to taste, to hear  and see music.  It’s why I’ve called you to us.  It’s why my brothers are with me today.

Mardeleva | COVID 19 Quarantine Live March 24 2020

It is believed that before the existence of humans and Earth, there was merely a sea of fresh water and an empty sky. The god of the sky, Alom, created the sun and the stars so that humankind could discover life's purpose.
Inspired by their namesake, their purpose is to create an atmosphere through sound and light.
Alom is a digital record label founded in Tulum with deep connection to Mayan culture.
It’s because of the connection to this land that they’ve chosen their first release to be of help in this time of need.
We have teamed up with Alom
to release our latest song “The Storm Approaches”, inspired literally and metaphorically, by the current state of the planet and the heavy storms we are experiencing in Tulum.

All profits go directly to the local efforts in Tulum while taking part in Juneteenth in a global effort to stand against racism.

The Riviera Maya and TULUM communities live almost entirely from the millions of travelers exploring and enjoying the natural and cultural richness of our destination. Thousands of jobs have been lost, and the essential needs are no longer being met by most. This puts our communities at a huge risk.
‍With absolute uncertainty of the length of the lockdown the Tulum Community needs your help to sustain our relief efforts through this crisis.

The release date of Friday June 19 is significant. BANDCAMP is donating 100% of their share of sales to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, a racial justice organization with a long history of effectively enacting change through litigation, advocacy, and public education.
This is why we have decided, to maximize our efforts on a day of aid to local and global efforts that need urgent attention.
