Two alts we made for Extra History's series on Justinian and Theodora.  It's based on the Hymn "Only Begotten Son", popularized by Justinian during a doctrinal dispute with the Origenists.  As a result, it is sometimes called "Justinian's Hymn". We kept our instrumentation simple, with a Viola to evoke the Byzantine Lyra, and a Harp to imitate the Lyre.

The string ensemble develops the emotional climax to the end of the track and draws pictures of a wide, untouched landscape.
