With the first single off the EP, Street Light featuring Berklee College of Music Alumni, Gwen Bunn (vocalist and producer of Schoolboy Q’s Collard Greens feat. Kendrick Lamar), the release celebrates the skills of upcoming young musicians who are writing, self-producing and taking full advantage of their vocal and multi-instrumentalist talents.

This 5 Year Compilation is a collection of gems from the Record Breakin' Music (RBM) label. Ov er the last 5 years, RBM has always represented a wide range of underground music. Although our releases have all been quite different, the constant theme is a soulful vibe. Music is always a moving target, constantly changing and evolving. We've been fortunate enough to work with a wide range of artist, many of whom are supporters of pushing musical boundaries in new directions.

For this 5 Year Anniversary compilation, I had selected some of my favorite tracks over the years. It was a difficult task. However, I believe these tracks are a great introduction to the label, as well as a strong retrospective of what we've worked on. So enjoy!

Although originally released as a free download in 2012, the new Deluxe version has been added to with two new standout tracks, re-mastered to bring out Reva’s great voice and excellent songwriting, and remixed by some of the best producers of new school Soul and Funk music, Tall Black Guy and Tony Ozier.
