Ravin’ ain’t dead. And neither is the counterculture it represents. Despite efforts by government and big business alike to shut down the underground scene since the 90s, a new generation of artists and diehard ravers are carrying the torch of free expression and a lust for breakbeats. 

Among them are Black Country Beats. The trio of Will, Jamie and Joe, who Tom grew up with, have set themselves a mission to put the Black Country firmly on the raving map. Hailing from Stourbridge, famous for its crystal glassware, canals and orange chips, Black Country Beats is one of the few things to distinguish our hometown from the equally popular tourist trap of Venice. 

On the cusp of their biggest event to date on 19th July with key inspiration, the legendary DJ Bryan Gee headlining, now seemed an opportune time to sit down and chart the course of Black Country Beats and to bring you an exclusive vinyl-only drum n bass mix from DJ REEDY (@will-reed101), DJ STANLEE (@jamie-stanley-650452007) & MC CARBO, recorded direct from BCB HQ!
