The typewriter keys still chatter like bones,
A melody worn but still mine to own.
I hum the refrain of a half-written tune,
While the sunset bleeds into midnight too soon.
I’ve borrowed my time from the bank of the moon,
Paid in whispers and wrinkles,  birthday cake in June.
But the symphony’s sweet when the curtain’s undone—
Even fading notes ache to be sung.
The doctor’s grin was a flatlining chord,
A diagnosis tucked in a minor key, ignored.
I rewrote the ending a hundred times slow,
But the bridge never leads where I’m scared to go.
I’ve borrowed my time from the bank of the moon,
Paid in whispers and wrinkles, birthday cake in June.
But the symphony’s sweet when the curtain’s undone—
Even fading notes ache to be sung.
The piano’s grown quieter, dust on the stand,
Yet my fingers still dance like they don’t understand.
The applause I once craved? Just echoes now,
But the silence between us—hell, still not sure how....
The last page curls like a fist in the wind,
A finale I’ll never quite finish or pin.
But the ink’s never dry if the heart’s still loud,
So I’ll scribble my name in the mist of a cloud.
I’ve borrowed my time from the bank of the moon,

And when the last chord’s just a hush in the air,
You’ll find me where the music goes when it’s nowhere—
