Ця пісня була написана у 2000 році відомим гітаристом, композитором, аранжувальником, лідер-вокалістом рок-групи «Галактика» Вʼячеславом Сінчуком для мене, для юної співачки Уляни Латик. Пісня про кохання, мрії, сподівання без яких неможливе людське життя. Пісня пролежала 24 роки у шафі і отримавши сучасне аранжування вийшла у цей Світ.

(Verse 1) In the heart of Sin City, where the cards dance and the dice whisper secrets, There stood a joint called the “Desert Rose,” its neon petals blooming defiance. The Choir Club gathered there—eccentric souls, half gamblers, half dreamers, Their pockets full of luck and their hearts stitched with nostalgia.

(Pre-Chorus) The crooner, Johnny “Lucky” Malone, leaned against the piano, His voice a velvet caress, weaving tales of lost love and neon-lit nights. He sang of dames with crimson lips, their eyes reflecting the Strip’s neon glow, And the ghosts of old mobsters who still haunted the casino floors.

(Chorus) “Midnight Mirage,” he crooned, as the roulette wheel spun its hypnotic spell, A love story etched in neon, where Lady Luck danced with Lady Fate. The Choir Club swayed, their laughter echoing off mirrored walls, And Johnny’s voice carried them to a place where time blurred and memories bled.

(Verse 2) He sang of a showgirl named Ruby, her sequined gown trailing stardust, Her heart a wild card, dealt from a deck stacked against her. She danced at the Stardust Lounge, legs like flamingos in flight, Her dreams wrapped in feathers and the scent of jasmine.

(Pre-Chorus) But Ruby had a secret—a suitcase hidden beneath her bed, Letters tied with satin ribbons, inked with promises and regrets. Her lover, a croupier named Frankie, whispered love notes between shuffles, Their rendezvous at the Neon Boneyard, where broken signs whispered forgotten tales.

(Chorus) “Midnight Mirage,” Johnny sang, fingers tracing the ivory keys, As Ruby’s tears fell like diamonds on the green felt table. Frankie dealt a losing hand, and the Choir Club held their breath, For in this city of illusions, even love could fold like a paper fan.

(Bridge) One moonless night, Ruby slipped aces up her sleeve, Her heart aces, her fate uncertain. She met Frankie by the old El Cortez sign, Its neon flickering like a dying star. He wore a fedora low, hiding his eyes, And they danced—two shadows in a city that never slept.

(Chorus) “Midnight Mirage,” Johnny’s voice cracked, the notes fragile as antique glass, Ruby bet it all on love, while Frankie shuffled destiny. The Choir Club leaned in, their hearts wild cards in a cosmic game, And the roulette wheel spun, deciding whether love would win or fold.

(Outro) As dawn painted the desert sky, Ruby vanished like smoke, Leaving behind a lipstick-stained napkin and a whispered promise. Johnny sang the final verse, his voice a wisper-toned memory: “Vegas, my love, you’re a gamble worth losing.”

And so, the Choir Club swayed, their souls entwined with the city, As Johnny “Lucky” Malone faded into the neon-lit horizon, His song echoing through the ages, a love story etched in stardust.

Beyond all the clod snows of time everyday a new song
in a town called Saranac Lake Legendary music was born

(Verse 1) new Collage opened and for sure shook the mountain town

hippies and deferment escapees were wondering all around

acceptance was like baby steps across snow covered ground

yet now today most folks seem woke and profound

Chorus)Those songs born by fireplace light in that circle of our commune
Echo past those adirondack days like music shadows from the moon
 Old Military Estates songwriter musicians gone way too soon.

(Verse 2) Soon after music by the new interlopers started to get played

at Waterhole #3 with your dogs and guitar how late you always stayed

Jack and Billy and the crew performing songs that last night we made

We paddled through Saranac’s gentle flow,
Canoes gliding on waters deep and blue,
Where adventure was life, and feelings were true.The forest whispered secrets in the breeze,
As we camped beneath the ancient trees,
Stars above, a canopy of light,
We shared our dreams in the quiet night.Laughter echoed through the morning mist,
Every moment, a memory kissed,
We were young, with hearts so bold,
In those days, our stories told.But time, the silent thief, has crept,
And in its wake, our paths have swept,
Now miles and years lie in between,
The faces we were, the places we’ve seen.Though we may never meet again,
The echoes of our youth remain,

After my coffee house days I put  my performance life away to build a family.but every week I tried to put a song idea in note book..Once I got old and family set I came back to my music doing a few songs a year...then I got this terminal type feedback on my timeline so I grabbed up the best music folk I knew over the years...put a studio band together (Hot Cookie) to record 100 HIT songs from the notes I took every week for 50 years. They are not for us to perform but for you to.  We picked just 2 songs from every year's notebook that we felt were hits that could change folks' lives if they covered them...so here they are. THE BACK STORY:
I was just 19 Way back bout 1969
a couple of new friends of mine
Hippy Joni & John Prine
gave me some listening time
50 years later down the line
what was voiced then is now
so wonderfully defined
by voices my music was meant to find
I wonder back into that dive hotel room now and then
and meet with old friends... Everyone making amends ...Time just transcends
Playing and singing our dream songs....Hoping stardom comes along
So we can all run away
And play everyday
In a cloud of smoke
Where nobody’s broke
Maybe one more toke and I can stay
SO
Too old ..
So little in the tank
Not near the time to get in all I want to thank
Thought all my music might someday get me bank
Cause God gave me talent but the check he wrote was a bit blank
And as I got older and my dreams of glory sank
I made what's here for you to see
hoping  my sad obscurity gets outflanked
