FAUZIA is an artist of many moods. The UK talent moves from IDM to soul on her NTS Radio residency, while her club DJ sets reveal her love for '90s-style breaks, electro and bass-heavy sounds. In the studio, she explores her softer side through self-released homespun dub and ambient jungle.

In recent years, she's gravitated towards live performances. Her gossamer vocals, one of her strongest suits, cuts through live instrumentation like a hummingbird in agile flight. In 2020, the London-based talent told Mixmag that she was done being categorised as a "dance music" artist—and so far, she's succeeded. While she incorporates clubby touchstones into her work, there's a deep level of cross-genre knowledge and blending at play.

FAUZIA's RA podcast makes that clear. Free of any four-to-the-floor music, it moves from experimental jazz to orchestral melodies to R&B ballads for a thoughtful and introspective journey full of her own unreleased music that points towards her newer interest in composition. This encounter took place on a very special day: April 2nd in Argentina commemorates the victims of the Malvinas War, a bloody confrontation between the neoliberal government of Margaret Thatcher and the murderous Argentine dictatorship over British-occupied territory. 
Kiernan Laveaux is a connective rhythmic energy conduit & ecstatic beat conductor from the Great Lakes. A boundless ball of discordant energy, she’s best known for her arcane technical skill, propulsive dancefloor catharsis, & hyper-creative approach behind the decks. The music included here is all-embracing & expansive, but unified by a restless sense of ecstatic momentum, dissonant euphoria, & kinetic exuberance. This channels binary dissolving phenomena throughout our known universe via unbridled musical vitality.

Since 2009 Manchester’s @rufdug has released music that blends Ambient, Dub, Disco, Downtempo, House, Leftfield and Vaporwave into one big sensational groove cloud.

Releases on labels such as Music For Dreams, Süd Electronic, Unknown To The Unknown or his very own imprint Rüf Kutz, not only showcase a wide stylistic range, they also enthrall with deep felt musicality.

As a DJ, the Mancunian built up a global reputation for high-energy sets that vibrate intuitively and reflect Ruf Dug's spaced out range of influences.

With peaceful psychedelic love from Amsterdam, our 50th mix features Chilean born DJ Marcelo Umana, delivering a musical story that tells the sounding tales of miscellaneous bands and artists like Richie Havens, Gaussian Curve, Finis Africae, Wolf Müller & Cass, Ned Doheny, Tony Allen and the Stone Roses.

In his home country, Umana was a key figure of the 90's Chilean electronic music movement, playing alongside Ricardo Villalobos and Luciano long before both departed for international stardom.

As well as spinning vinyl in the clubs of Santiago De Chile, Umana published a music magazine, worked in the now legendary Background Records store and had a weekly radio show on the Chilean network, Radio Isla Negra. He has lived in Amsterdam since 2001, where he is a resident DJ at Pllek and runs a successful early evening show at @redlightradio.

For the EDWIN Music Channel, Marcelo Umana has prepared an epic mix that travels devilishly diverse, gentle and warm while telling an truly alchemical psychedelic story in sound. Enjoy.

For EDWIN, the Höga Nord folks have conducted a mix that is folky, global and psychedelic. It features music by the Algerian musician, Ahmed Malek, a collaboration between mythical writer, William S. Burroughs, filmmaker, Gus Van Sant, a tune by the Super Djata Band from Bamako, Mali, some experimental ambient from Japan, tuned in by Haruomi Hosono and Tadanori Yokoo as well as tripping African vibes by the 70's band, El Rego Et Ses Commandos.

A real worldwide voyage that we highly recommend: Happy drifting and try to sing along!

“Mi mek mi move my foot fi som’ reggae!” -  get ready for one hour of dub and roots, prepared by @MarcusWorgull.

Since the early 90's, the Cologne-based DJ has been standing behind the decks delivering house music in all its varied colours.

In 2001 he began to release EP’s that originally focused on nu-jazz and broken beat vibes before transforming his sound into the modern high-end house that made him and his buddies Dixon and Âme, world famous.

Besides his career as a producer and DJ, he worked (and co-owned) the legendary Groove Attack Records store in Cologne - a place where he studied all sorts of music including reggae in all its dubby variations. How deep it entered his soul can be heard on his latest EP on his label home base, Innervisions. It’s called "Broad Horizons" and features two tracks named "Skango" and "Seen" that melt his passion for dub and reggae uniquely with state-of-the-art house.

For the EDWIN Music Channel this month, Marcus dug deep into his riddim collection and prepared a mix at the Worgulator Studios, that puts the house sound he is famed for aside and instead documents his love for Jamaican music spheres in order to satis-satisfy our souls!
