The fourth EP from Manjumasi comes by way of another San Franciscan, Ben Engelberg aka Bengal. As with the previous release, this too marks the debut of a new artistic alias from a well-versed producer. Formerly releasing as BNZO on such labels as VIVa Music and Trapez LTD, Ben's highly compelling tech house grooves haven't gone unnoticed, garnering attention from the likes of major players like Steve Lawler and Luciano. After a few years break from regular releases, Ben has honed his chops and now re-emerges as Bengal. His new project showcases a different side of his character and an enhanced level of musicality. The three originals on this EP are luscious and deep, texturally rich tracks. Emotive and enchanting, melodic and mysterious. At the same time, they are driven by punchy percussive rhythms that lay a sturdy anchor on the dancefloor, a clear testament to Ben's well-honed experience delivering serious grooves.

First up on remix duty is Swiss maestro Dachshund, who has turned up the energy on Masada and delivered an oustanding club remix, combining his trademark stabby synth motifs with the more subtle melodic elements of the original - a fine pairing of strength and softness. Rounding things out is a re-interpretation of Fractal Dust by Berlin mainstay MUUI. His remix takes the original into an even deeper space, expansive sonic realms washed over with beautiful pads and melodic brushtrokes.

For release number twenty-three on San Francisco's Manjumasi, label co-founder @mcslee returns with a new EP, his first original showing on the imprint since its debut release, his "Nocturne Belle" EP in 2016.

The "Grapeseed" EP features three original tracks, all with deep and mysterious elements that have become a marker of Slee's production style, as well as the broader Manjumasi label sound. First up is "Grapeseed", a haunting number built around a deep gliding bass riff with echoing bell melodies. The second track is Westvine, again featuring gently modulated bell elements in the lead, while dialing up both the shuffle and groove on a much more syncopated low-end. Finally, we have "Bitter Flower", which uses a super deep groove to set the foundation for classic synth elements with a modern twist. Acid-lines echo through the sonic space, alongside a nod to the classic M1 organ texture.

Alongside the originals is a diverse collection of outstanding remixes from highly respected producers. First up is Berlin's @acidpauli, who turns in an incredible deep and minimal interpretation of "Westvine". Here the focus is on solid bass and little organic details that grow gently through the mix, like tendrils into a brick foundation. Next is Seattle-based Jeff McIlwain, aka Lusine, who pulls the tempo of "Grapeseed" down to a very mellow 100bpm, the perfect pace for a deep bass burner that works its way steadily through an intense slow-mo crescendo. Finally, Birmingham's Tom Flynn takes aim more squarely at the dancefloor, with a proper ripping take on Bitter Flower. Driving synths and arpeggios recall the energy and euphoria of classic progressive house, but Tom's touch employs a more modern and sophisticated sound palette, expressing both melancholy and intrigue.

Edwin Cervants (Folklor Miüsick / Analog Solutions / Discos Deleite / 1101 Records / House Secrets Records / Freak the Funk)  Berlin

Born in central Mexico in a prosperous region known as the Bajío Shire, Edwin Cervantes, being a pioneer of the electronic movement in this area, began his career at the age of 15.
 
Determined to inspire people with his music, begin to refine his ear always looking for originality and quality in music, something that quickly became known among his colleagues for his ability to portend trends while satisfying the need of his audience to hear fun, original and sophisticated music. 

This taste for quality music along with his charismatic personality opened doors in the national and internacional stage allowing him to play in major bars and nightclubs in the Bajío region central Mexico , Playa del Carmen and Tel Aviv (Israel) alongside figures from the national and international scene: Valentino Kanzyani, Eduardo de la Calle, Agents of time, Masón Collective, Nick Warren, Marc houle, Paul Ritch, Greg Pidcock, Paolo Rocco, Robert James, Siopis, Johs Butler, Italoboys, Jay Haze, Hobo, Zombies in Miami, Click Click , Felipe Gordon, Climbers, Ray Mang, Tone of arc, Will Kats, Kate Simko, Ravid Yehoshua, Lex, Luis Junior, Lee M Kelsall, The Midnght Perverts, Be.lanuit , Pinto, Andy Martin, Pepe Mogt , Sakro, Mike Montaño, Hot Mood, Flavio Navarro, Damian Uzabiaga, Lui Fresco, Omar Labastida etc.

While studding a degree in culinary arts in Leon Guanajuato he formed  his label named Folklor Miüsick along with Daniel Jimenex , Eduardo Huerga , Fabian Moon , James Bong and Ivan Otero. Later on he consecrated as a DJ by producing  his on music and started to sign under this label his songs.

For the year of 2012 finishes his degree doing his service in Playa del Carmen, Tulum and has since devoted all his time to his career as a DJ playing at the best places in Playa del Carmen, educating him self as a producer along with Eduardo Ferryra , Edson Trevino, Mike Montaño and organizing events with the We got Jacuzzi collective.

Currently he makes parties in Playa del Carmen at Club 01 called "Love Peace & Dance" together with his friend Alex Rivas, having in common a music project called "Freak the Funk"
