My Rhodes through my new Strymon BigSky (chorale mode) into my Fender 75, then in the box sent to Valhalla VintageVerb which is then sent to Soundtoys Echoboy pingpong. How lush is it!

Dylan C is my favourite DJ. Such a legend with a deep musical knowledge and sensitivity to energy. I got to join him in this closing set of Ponderosa Ranch festival with my Minimoog. All improvised and played reactively to what Dylan was laying down. Thanks to The Busy Movement for having us ❤️

Kraftwerk's classic 'The Robots' remade and done on a talkbox! All synth parts, bass, leads, bleeps, squelches (bar a couple of samples) made with the Minimoog (Model D) and the Korg MS-20. Bassline recorded slowly and manually chopped to the grid to sound techno-ish. Synth pads made by multitracking the monosynths. Intro made with sounds from explosions, impacts, cranes and printers. Enjoy!

I was recently asked to play a synthesizer rendition of Douglas Lilburn's Aotearoa Overture in a two minute performance as part of the APRA 49th Silver Scrolls awards in Wellington. I thought I'd recreate it in my room for you to watch :)

I'm using a Roland SP-404SX sampler, Minimoog Model D, original Korg MS-20, Roland Juno 106, Strymon BigSky for verb and Electroharmonix Cathedral for stereo ping pong delay on two sends.

The sampler I use to trigger sections that I've created mainly by multitracking the Minimoog (the intro has 11 Moog layers and 2 Juno parts) into Logic. Hope you enjoy it!

Douglas Lilburn - Aotearoa Overture (Ed Zuccollo Synth Version)

This soothing reinterpretation of 'Hyperion' delves deeper into melancholy and nostalgia, highlighting the subtlety and depth of expression on my primary instrument, the piano. The natural sounds of playing softly—gentle creaks of the piano stool, quiet shuffling—add to the intimate atmosphere. Recorded during a rainstorm, I doubled down on coziness by gently layering in recordings I’d made of light rain and the crackling of the fireplace in the house where I grew up. Fans of Nils Frahm’s evocative piano recordings will appreciate the emotional depth and texture throughout.

My debut solo set in this format supporting Digg at San Francisco Bath House, Wellington, NZ. The setup I used is in the picture and consisted of Minimoog, Rhodes through the RE-201 Space Echo, Korg MS-20 into Talkbox, Jupiter 8 through an EHX Cathedral, MIDI keyboard controlling samples I'd prepared and put into the EXS24 in Mainstage. I've cut some clips here of a few tunes I played.

Had a quick jam this afternoon preparing for my solo set coming up mid April, and this thing came out! MS-20 bass (new bass patch I discovered, I like the breathing sound!), Jupiter 8 pads, and drums and samples played in one take on the MIDI keyboard for a quick bit of fun!
