The 90's are reborn with the release of a new EP. Fast paced Drum 'n' Bass is paired with nostalgic samples and frenetic euphoric energy which makes this three tracker a hell of a ride.

Rinse FM resident and London scene stalwart @oliver-rant returns via the 'Underground Solution' EP. 

Recorded intermittently over a couple of years with various techniques, notably 'Your Love' and 'Every Time' were made at Lavonz's studio which is set up identical to how he had it in the 90's: 32 channel Mackie Desk, Korg M1, Roland JV 2080 and some delay courtesy of the Roland Space Echo. Lots of influence from older tracks and production techniques but with a more polished modern twist.

Maestro and Tabache are great friends and met in August 2022 for the last time before Maestro left Bologna and returned to live in Germany. So they decided to meet in Maestro’s studio to say goodbye for the last time and do their first jam session.

When tabache arrived he repeatedly pushed the doorbell (track1 “Campanello”), then entered and found in Maestro’s house also his young brother Trombetta that therefore casually joined in the jam. They played all day till night, stopping just for a pizza (track 2) ordered in the “Favela” (track 3) restaurant under their house.

The EP is nothing more than the documentation of the 3 most intense moments of those hours.

It was all composed with analog instruments, some old organs, one ms-20, some samplers, Elektron RYTM and some weird synths.

Kelton Prima is a parisian DJ and producer who starts making music in the late 80’s as a member of a computer demo band called Future Minds, using only an Atari ST and later a Commodore Amiga. In the early 90’s, highly inspired with house and techno played in underground rave parties he starts spinning records in clubs and parties throughout France, produces his own tracks and performs his first hardcore/breakbeat live in Gibus club at a Mental Confusion parties.
In 1998 he gets professionally involved in music distribution and retail in Toulouse where he meets Pilooski with whom he collaborates few years later within Inkorporation collective. At the same time they run Ind.rec label releasing eclectic stuff from soul to electronica. He also produces under D_Tekt moniker and writes some articles and reviews for musical press. He also worked on video, multimedia installations or musical performances with various contemporary artists such as the French photographer Lionel Bayol-Themines or the E/I collective.
From there he goes back to his first passion: disco and electro-funk, he produces then The Arrival EP on belgian label Disco Praline, EP’s and LP for Jamal Moss’ Chicago based imprint Mathematics Recordings, various digital and 12" releases on Pizzico Nobel and remixes for Alvina Red, Hard Ton, Thieves Like Us and Plastique de Rêve among others.

nthng finally follows up his four stunning EPs with a full album proper, arriving in a whopping 3xLP pack. 

Arriving a good 6 months after the LT029.5 album sampler which debuted both Soms and In My Dreams, nthng adds another seven hazy, hooded techno bangers to those to make up a pretty dazzling body of work. 

Opener 'Touches' is true ambient bliss, with shrouded, blissful synths fuzzing into view and cut through by a soft low distant sunlight. 

Both Galaxy and Eternal thump into view with a hi-paced drums colliding and clashing with syncopated stabs and smooth dusty baselines, recalling the tender techno-trance precipice danced by Dutch producers at the start of the 90's. 

The huge mysterious fan favourite and title track It Never Ends gets it's pride of place with 9 mins of deep, cavernous techno, all rippling with epic string-synths and washes of mountainous reverb. 

Even deeper numbers are extracted from the hard-drive, including the pensively, digitally-bubbling computer jam Unity sitting tidily alongside the super deep and subtle rolls of Abyss. 

Rounding the album out is the appropriately-titled Last. A dark, shimmering, almost emotionless number that cements a different idea of the future. A hard, pounding, yelping, depth-charged technoid closer. 

For us, the album feels like a real masterpiece, conjuring a spectrum of intimate and emotive moods, feelings and nostalgia-tinged memories that float into the mind, like the settling fog in the valley on a crisp winters morning.
