Listen to Eelke's new single This Old House. This song was released on the 26th of November through LAB Music. It's the second single taken from the forthcoming EP Tomorrow Same Time.

Eelke about This Old House:
The house in the lyric is a metaphor for a body. I sing this song from the perspective of an older person speaking to a younger person, perhaps a grandparent talking to a grandchild.

About the EP:
For his latest effort Tomorrow Same Time Eelke joined forces with his old bandmate, friend and much sought after drummer Mischa Porte (Douwe Bob, Luwten, Pitou). Together they made a selection of songs from the pile of raw demo recordings Eelke had gathered. After that, they planned the course of action for the recording of each song individually. The result is a varied EP. Four songs that each seem to exist in their own space. The starting point is mostly acoustic, but be prepared for some unexpected twists and turns.

I'm A Man

Pt. 1

Too Much Too Soon describes the fear of hurting someone else by protecting yourself, having no choice but to do so. It's about being unable to let go of the past, and therefore being unable to commit to the present.

Musically there's a strong contrast between the aggression in the verses and instrumental parts and the melancholy in the choruses, underlining a sense of both frustration and desperation.

Eelke is a Dutch musician and songwriter. He combines meaningful lyrics and guitar-driven music to create songs that will stick with you. Inspired by The Smiths, Ryan Adams and R.E.M. amongst many others, Eelke writes and records music the way he wants to. This makes his sound no-nonsense, unique and personal.
