Coming off the back of a run of breath-taking emotion-laden hits - 'Hi', 'Mantra' and 'Gira' - German duo, Monkey Safari, had actually crafted 'Safe' well before the world was turned upside down. 'We produced Safe as a message of unity, hope and love. When we came to release it, we realised it soundtracked our socially isolated emotions to perfection. Sharing emotions is one of our main motivations when producing music and DJing. Getting together, dancing together, smiling together.'

As we navigated the summer's choppy dancefloor waters, 'Safe' became the anthem we all anticipated. Goosebump-inducing, chill-delivering. Sunset, peaktime or sunrise. It became the soundtrack to a brighter future.

Fresh for '22 it returns, revisioned and remixed by none other than Spectrum boss Joris Voorn. Ready to comfort and lift us once again.

The original of 'Nu World' is a rousing single designed to sweep dancers off their feet. In Solomun's hands, it becomes one of his signature melodic masterpieces. The Diynamic label founder is one of dance music's most globally recognised stars. He has been immortalised in the legendary Grand Theft Auto video game, holds his own influential residency at Pacha in Ibiza and is on a near constant tour of the world's biggest clubs and festivals where he leads the house scene from the front. 

His seven minute rework of 'Nu World' is a typically emotive house track with yearning vocal samples immediately pulling you in. The fresh drums are underpinned by warm, rumbling bass, and the searching synth craft is expansive. When the classic piano chords come in mid-way through, hands will go skyward and the dance floor will be united as one. 

This is a remix that brings heartfelt joy and rousing house grooves.

Marking their debut release on Anjunadeep, esteemed producer and musician Alex Metric teams up with hotly tipped emerging DJ/producer Ten Ven on new groove heavy club weapon ‘Otic’. The British pair individually boast an enviable back catalogue of high profile production credits. Having swiftly become one of the most highly sought after remixers and producers over the past decade, Metric has been called upon by the likes of Depeche Mode, Ellie Goulding and Gorillaz to give his signature spin on their tracks. Ever in search of an even-better environment to make music in, Joris Voorn has been hard at work this year constructing a new studio space near his home in Amsterdam. Having only very recently been completed, Joris immediately went to add the finishing touches on his next single in his new natural habitat. 'Genova' is the result, and its been well worth the wait.

A nagging techy beat with a funky undertone drives this infectious track, with monotone synth rhythms subtly rising from the depths to create tense pressure. Moments of teasing intensity increase the drama, before a beautiful arpeggiated melody unfolds and with it brings a sorrowful chord progression. The bass follows in tandem as we head towards a sparse breakdown which strips things down to the bare minimum. A lengthy snare build recalls classic trance as the synths pulse and swell, with a hooky vocal snippet announcing the drop. After some more of that juicy groove, an extended ambient outro provides an atmospheric, heavenly ending.

'Genova' has been heavily road-tested by Joris, featuring in all his sets over the summer and it has received huge reactions whenever played. It seems like his new studio has added a touch of magic to it, and we can all look forward to much more material coming out of it very soon indeed.
