Dust, a little tape that I threw together over the weekend. I went back to a bunch of old tracks and finished them, and I went crazy making some new ones too. Some abstract stuff on here along with more traditional stuff. Shout out to the r/makinghiphop IRC crew and r/lofi hip-hop and r/triphop for inspiring the tape. Enjoy!

On burgundy, I wanted to emulate the style and sound of the avant-garde and post-bop legends of Jazz, such as Miles Davis, Sun Ra, Mingus, Dave Brubeck, and Ornette Coleman, while challenging myself to make new sounds and think more creatively. There aren't any traditional beats on here in the popular sense of the word, mostly abstract stuff. Big shout out to the /r/makinghiphop IRC crew for helping me out through the making of the tape, as well as /r/lofihiphop and /r/triphop for inspiring the sounds and ideas of the tape.

'16_vol. 1 is a collection of beats that I dusted off from the second half of 2015 and beats I made over Christmas break.I tried out some new techniques I have been thinking about and have gotten my chops back up to snuff. Hopefully creating this beat tape series for the new year will help me be more productive and gain as much experience as possible.
