Mary Yuzovskaya's vinyl-only, Berlin-via-New York Monday Off label takes another dive into techno's hypnotic depths; specifically where the music's subtle dynamics unfurl in intensely cerebral and psychedelic ways. Expanding on his contributions to the most recent two MOFF compilations, Warsaw's Michał Wolski cements his standing in the core roster with this heady debut solo EP for Monday Off. 

Otherworldly sounds swirl around opener Meionia Calai as if caught in its cyclonic embrace, giving way to the propulsive crescendo beneath Xeioa Claipha's glimmering electronics. On the flip side, Plaxhia Exhia conjures ghostly textures that ebb and flow over its tensile percussive clatter, and Luigi Tozzi reworks the A1 into a hallucinogenic beast whose searing atmospherics and driving rhythms unfurl and envelope.

Known for his deep and dub influenced techno releases on labels such as Phorma, Modelisme, Knotweed
and Ranges, he delivers two ambient influenced techno tracks with a mental and dancefloor attitude.
Driving grooves, pulsating synths and melancholic melodies are the main elements of the original tracks,
which journey narrates about cosmic energies, self healing and mental stimulation.
The Omega Point is, at fact, a spiritual belief and a scientific speculation that everything in the universe is
fated to spiral towards a final point of &quot;divine&quot; unification.
&quot;Light from Light&quot; puts emphasis on the eternal and bright light of wisdom, which allows to think and act
using knowledge, experience, understanding, common sense, and insight. Wisdom leads a person to
overcome feelings of helplessness, powerlessness, anger or aggression by non-understanding of external
elements and internal acknowledgement.

After 9 years from its first release, Marco Shuttle’s hard to find eternal anthemic classic “The Vox Attitude” gets re-issued in a deluxe remix pack including both tracks of the original record (from 2011) and remixes by Atom TM, Pessimist and Marco Shuttle himself.

Unlike the first remix pack that came out in 2013, and that was a single 12” with remixes by Pangaea and Joy Anderson, this second remix project will  also feature the track, Spaziale, B side of the original first release.

The Vox attitude  which is the track that pretty much launched Marco Shuttle’s international career is an anthemic metallic big room dubby techno tune, with strong sensual almost garagey vocal samples and diffuse percussions.

Atom TM’s rework of the track maintains quite intact many elements of the original at the beginnng, but gets progressively sprinkled with his trademark FM sounds and vocoder processed vocals very much reminiscent of his HD album on Raster Noton to end up with an epic synth line which unfolds towards the closing of the track.

Marco Shuttle’s “to the bone” remix is a very stripped down 4/4 grovy reinterpretation built around a what sounds like a very playful  and wld Roland TR 909  live jam on top of which the single hit vocal samples of the original are layered in a way that they almost create a bassline that extends through the whole length of the track

Spaziale stirs into a more dark heady territory with a haunting far reverberated bassline enriched by eerie trumpet sounding syhth parts in full effect Marco Shuttle style.

Pessimist’s remix is a downtempo broken track built around a heavy bass reworked version of the bassline of the original, resulting into a track in that full neo Trip Hop Bass Bristolian style the UK producer has so wonderfully executed on his releases on Blackest ever Black and his own label Pessimist Productions.

Eyvind Blix is a musical phenomenon, blessed with the rare ability to utilize the entire sonic spectrum in his musical explorations, fusing hypnotic sonic texture with elements of monotonic darkness; he creates illusions, distorts perceptions, shakes realities. He invokes feelings of contradiction, first luring the listener into a place of dreamlike bliss, then forcing them into a surreal darkness where all notions of space and time are lost. When we created the label in 2017, our idea was to push new talents and to create an artist community following our philosophy. The six tracks here describe well the universe we want to promote, raw, mental and sci-fi techno with a big attention to details and sound design.

The various starts with a close friend of the label Souls Tide Zone that show us another side of his project with a powerful ambient track “Oracle”. Then comes “Tembeling”, produced by one of the label manager 9beats, mixing sci-fi forest ambiance with a strong organic bassline. Third track “A.I.” is from the Lyon based DJ and composer Nicolas Rifo, fast rolling toms with a dark atmosphere will guide you on this one. The first part of the various shows that CWR is not intended to focus on one style but more on the emotion and ambiance of the tracks.

Second part starts with the parisian based modularist dc11 and his track “Electron”. He took our attention these last months, dropping really strong and precise techno that clearly match the label. Then comes “Supo x1000” from Mersel that will easily find a place on your sets. Last artist highlight on this release is Benabou with her track “Torment”, mixing analog percussions with a strong lead.

Eerie records is a techno music label  founded in 2012 by Marco Sartorelli (Marco Shuttle) initially mainly as an output for himself but then slowly opening its doors to other projects/artists like Healing Force Project, Domenico Crisci and Anxur (the collaboration between Shuttle himself and fellow italian techno maestro Donato Dozzy).
The label idea and philosophy is to approach electronic music in an experimental and challenging way welcoming and pushing all the contaminations this music has the potential to embrace.
