Recorded from the same location as the previous night recording, but about four hours later, in the morning, from around 08:00. In addition to the Black Swans, Australian Shelducks, Grey Teals, Pacific Black Ducks, and Silver Gulls that could be heard here at night, there are now also Australian Magpies, Magpie Larks, Singing Honeyeaters, Galahs, New Holland Honeyeaters, Fairy Wrens, and Masked Lapwings, among others.

The distant faint dull thuds that can be heard are coming from about 15 kilometres across Lake Alexandrina (which extends far beyond the strip of land visible at the horizon in the track photograph): they are the sound of duck hunters, because it is now the open season for duck hunting in the Tolderol and Mud Islands Game Reserves, among others. For the water birds that happened to roost on the far side of the lake, it is not such a good morning.

Sporadic gusts of breeze have caused some "wind in the ears", but I didn't want to interrupt the natural flow of the recording by cutting these occasional patches out. (If you'd been sitting there, the breeze in your ears would have sounded much like that, anyway, but you probably wouldn't have paid any attention to it, as we tend to do in a field recording. In any case, refinements in windshielding for this binaural rig are on the agenda.)

The Coorong is also at least 15 kilometres away from this location, and traces of its signature relentless deep roar can also be heard from here.

Recorded on land of the Ngarindjerri people that is now either National Park or privately owned pastoral land.

Same place as "Scottish Beach ativities" but later at night.  People have already left the places a few hours ago.
Large waves roll along the beach seriously pushed by the wind in one direction. The irregularity of the waves and the wind leave a peculiar impression.

In Scotland I used my MS Mic and Stereo Earsights always together on the mixpre6 recorder.

From dusk to dawn with two pairs of cranes and one or two single male contenders. In this recording you will hear almost infrasound (80-200 Hz) growls and heavy panting as the males chase each other in the wetland and of course the trumpeting of cranes through the night. An amazing experience to be this close. Huddunge, Uppsala. April 9, 2024.

An excerpt from an attended dawn recording, sitting within a Sheoak grove, featuring a pair of Australian Ravens. There can be little doubt that the Raven has one of the most penetrating and far-reaching unbeautiful yet evocative and expressive voices of the Australian bush. An intriguing being.

This recording was made with a pair of large-diaphragm condenser omnidirectional microphones in AB array with 62 cm spacing, raised high on a lightweight lighting stand, in a different location from, but contemporaneously with, and in the same locality as, the following related recordings, which were made with an unattended rig:

Yes, it was cold. 
Only -5 celcius but after two hours it feels alot more.

There is a distant traffic. The road is about 2,5 - 2,8 kilometers away.
I had to remove a noise slightly because the recording is quiet and its always difficult to record ice sounds. I have to develop a better technique.
Otherwise this is actual recording. The ice was really active.
