Influenced by 90’s Jungle Techno and Rave House on this one! The lyrics of “Bury That Sound” reminded me of how the NSW Government quite literally buried the sound from the once bustling Sydney Kings Cross Night Life, due to the dreaded lock out laws placed in 2014. I’m so stoked to see a small resurgence as of late, though! Sydney will be back! I wanted to reflect this connection by using this fkn sick vintage photo of the once vibrant intersection in King Cross… with my logo added lol.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

COUNTERMEASURES is the debut EP by techno duo 6 SENSE, boasting 4 massive tracks that discover unexplored horizons in the new wave's exploration of pounding yet playful techno. A product of the recent pandemic, the palette of this release bears intensity and catharsis after the city's maddening 2 year lockdowns that took away the golden years of the city's youth.  High speeds and booming kicks that force involuntary movement can be found in abundance here, creating the perfect sonic space for clubbers to decide: go hard or go home. Trust us, no one ever wants to go home hearing this.

Title track and EP opener, COUNTERMEASURES establishes the modus operandi of the release with high speed, thumping kicks, repeating synths and excited vocals that raise the blood pressure. In the only way they know how, 6 SENSE introduce themselves to the world with a bold display of power.

Next up to the Nektar Track series is a big one, Newcastle/Steel City local, DAVYROE, with his debut track, Step Back.

Finding the love for DJing in lockdown, Davy found his way in production just recently and has already started with a bang. Focusing on Techno/Breaks last year, Davy's moment of turning to the new Fast House, high energy techno scene came when he attended local newcastle event 'Daydreaming' and came to the liking of SWIM & CRUSH3d.

Branching through popular Newcastle events and playing some heavy sets as of late, Davy looks to extend into new areas this year. He hopes to be able to release plenty of good tracks and "gain traction through my music". Also founding the event space, 'Kree8productions', located in the Steel City as well, a big year is coming up for Davy.

Brisbane based ambassadors of genre fusing techno X CLUB. make their anticipated EP debut with ’SCUM’. Shifting between hasty breaks and propulsive 4/4 kicks, the EP focuses upon a definitive neo-futuristic rave sound inspired by a combination of 90s rave, jungle, electro and warehouse techno. Amongst clear hints of nostalgic influence, X CLUB. have involved a quantitive level of abrasive digital and analogue sound design in sculpting their signature techno-grime texture. Featuring four dynamic heaving club cuts, ‘SCUM’ explores tones of darkness while inducing a trance-like sense of euphoria. Blasts of contorted synth tones rage against mechanic percussive rhythms manifesting the scene of a dystopian industrial rave set neither in the past nor future.

‘SCUM’ is officially set for release on July 2nd via Earthed.
