For the 105th entry in the Honcho Podcast Series, @humanaut-aaron has finally graced us with her presence 🙃. This mix is a recording of his opening set for Powder at Hot Mass in December 2021.  It's a perfect example of a proper opening set, setting the tone with deep house and techno rollers. Aaron dug deep for this, pulling out some of his favorite vinyl builders from high school and college DJ days.

Aaron is one of the founding members of Honcho and has been throwing events, DJing and significantly contributing to the Pittsburgh nightlife ethos for nearly 20 years. His fierce devotion to the community and work ethic are a big part of what make Honcho what it is today.

"Unlike the other daytime curators, Lena Willikens chose to open La Sucrière's impressive main hall on Friday, playing alongside her usual back-to-back partner Vladimir Ivkovic. The two looked relaxed behind the decks, swaying, smoking and sometimes smiling. The crowd, less dense than during the other headliners due to the early start, were also in a good mood, using the extra space to feel out each beat of the slower selections. Much of the two hours felt like existing in the lagging moment of a sci-fi movie, just before a spaceship launches into warp speed (in a good way, I promise)."
