Involving the sounds of violin, guitar, accordion, mandolin and synthesiser, the album draws upon a variety of themes including the sea, special places, friends and good times. The overall concept for the album is that of time - the band having strong links to Greenwich, home of the prime meridian. Effra invite you to Lose An Hour (about 45 minutes to be precise) listening to their first musical offering.

Effra are a contemporary folk trio consisting of Alex Bishop (Guitar), Tom Newell (Fiddle) and Aidan Shepherd (Accordian). Originally heralding from Bath, Shrewsbury and Kent respectively, they are based in London where they continue to write, record and perform contemporary instrumental folk tunes.

Effra were the winners of the Bath Folk Festival New Shoots competition 2012.
