A friend's letter triggers me because of her moralist tone when I asked for help. After I calm down, write an essay — see 'My Moralist Friends, Family and Me' — I create a long reply to her short letter. I more clearly discover that 'morals' and 'moralism' are our lazy way of removing from ourselves compassion.

I was asked to read Naomi Zera's essay in Substack declaring Rabbi Shmuley Boteach won a debate about Zionism (I think). He went insane and certainly did not win the debate. My look at this took me into exploring more fully that 'morals' and 'moralism' are the means of killing compassion in us to allow us to with moral justification kill those who are undeserving. I include Hannah Arendt, William Blake, and Martin Luther. I argue that the need for 'singularisation' in belief/ideology supports a moral code that then can be manipulated by the authority of the day. I also argue that 'side picking' is a form of childishness that keeps each side throwing stones at each other.

I attended a mens group and the discussion turned to anger. I look at the manifestation of anger as pain in my body and address the importance of not seeing what is, in Sanskrit 'avidya', in healing that. I realise that Gautama Buddha's near death by self inflicted starvation as an austerity yoga practice was a form of avidya, and that it was through touching his emaciated body that he saw that and shortly after that had is big enlightenment. i look at the narcissistic nature of Buddhism, compare that to the narcissistic roots of Catholicism, and question if narcissistic structures arise because people defer responsibility for their lives to an other, be it church or person. a fascinating discussion.

The original travelogue 'essay' describing my embarking on what was to become a yogic spiritual awakening when I rejected the injection and was suspended from work. This is chapter 1, when my partner and I travel 3000+ km a week after Canadian pandemic policies locked down the country. We are in living media free yoga bliss and mostly ignore everything crazy and dive deeper into yoga. 
I share why I didn't trust what was happening, that it was clear to me that we were being deliberately panicked and so the pandemic was a managed event.

Hello and welcome to “becoming a refugee in the time of covid.” my name is guy duperreault.

Today I am reading from a 2023 essay that I edited significantly in the last week. It looks at our words as spells. And as such demands careful expression, mindfulness at the most profound yogic level. With twenty plus years of examining and then removing from my vocabulary six words in particular, the changes upgraded my life in ways that have been so powerful that they are in some ways pretty much ineffable, wordless. This essay is a summary of my refined examination of those ubiquitous powerfully disempowering spell words. And I argue why they are disempowering and why they are ubiquitous despite their pernicious nature.

For me their removal from my vocabulary more than twenty years ago created a profound change in my life, my energy in life, and my relationships. In the beginning the changes were subtle.  And now it has seen in me an expansive empowerment and the ability to live strongly, bodily, boldly, responsively and responsibly with agency and authority in this exact moment. 

Very recently I had the profound realisation that these words invisibly contradict the yogic principles of the first two Yamas, ahimsa and satya — do no violence in mind or action and speak and act with truthfulness. These words, as you will see by their very nature, violate these ethical practices and do so invisibly because we are bullies being bullied in a social construct I recently understood as being full blown Bully Stockholm Syndrome.

Today’s essay is a revised and updated essay from the summer of 2022. It explores the idea that yoga is very often, and very likely mostly, used as a popular drug-free yet drug-like activity that allows yogi and yogini wannabes to easily fall into spiritual by-pass instead of developing authentic yogic equanimity. I had observed very early in my own yoga journey this phenomenon in 2016. And my assessment of yoga as spiritual by-pass was absolutely confirmed with the convid and how so-called yogis instead of standing with equanimity and strength for freedom against medically induced tyranny joined the panicked and embraced medical tyranny and anti-social shunning and cancelling practices.

Hello and welcome to this audio cast of ‘becoming a refugee in the time of covid’. My name is guy duperreault from Oaxaca México. Today I share with you what started out as an epistle to my dead father. The 6th one since I started writing to my dead father two years ago on the day of the dead here in Oaxaca. 

Although I started this one with clear intention rooted in past epistles, my experience of writing this one quickly went sideways. It has become a something, not really a letter and not really an essay. It is fully awash in synchronicities, some of medium significance and others astonishing. And the more I wrote, the more significant the synchronicities became until I faced the reality that this wannabe epistle had become a singular expression of an elaborate multiplicity of interdependent synchronicities, an embodiment, perhaps, of what Gautama Buddha calls ‘dependent co-arising’.

At some point in the craziness of what I was experiencing I asked my body for direction on this epistle: do I claw it back from a chronicle of chronic synchronicity or not. ‘Continue,’ was the direction I was given. Then even later, I asked the book of changes, the I Ching, about changing course. ‘Continue as you were,’ was the unambiguous answer. So, this began in mid-October and now it is past mid-November. During the writing I was directed to update a significant essay from 2022, called Q: 'I agree that [yogic calmness] is important, so how do we account for all the yoga teachers who fly Ukraine flags and require masks in their studios?' — Audio: A: Yoga as Drug.’ And that became a huge edit with its own plethora of new synchronicities that wound up weaving themselves into this Dear Claude Epistle #6, A Difunto Padre, to a dead father.

In this epistle the synchronicities wove in the US Presidential election, Clif High’s knights fighting giant snails, venom poisoned wells, the roots of progressive liberalism in marxism, an elaboration of how ‘abundance becomes humility’ and even the thorny issue of how do we know that what we see or think as true or perhaps even being truth is valid? It has come to me that this philosophical or spiritual sumo is actual yoga, the questing and questioning of truth in our experience in contrast to the ideas of our experience. And even as I write this, on the 19th of November, it came to me last night to watch James Lindsay look at Hegel’s dialectical arguments regarding the contrasting of experience and the idea of ideal as the means of moving our limited human understanding towards ultimate truth.

Eventually my body directed me to break this into ‘episodes’ because of length. Hard to imagine, perhaps, given the length of this one that there are more to follow! My intention is to finish the next one, or maybe two, at intervals of one week at a time going forward.

Dear Claude Epistle #6.1 A Difunto Padre

by an odd intuitive process i was introduced to what is proof of the moon landing having been faked. the discovery had a profound effect on my body, a huge aha and an upgrade in feeling and energy and joy. i explore how it is that when we see the truth that the body doesn't lie infers the body knows what is a lie, then when we accept lies, even ones or especially ones we don't see, perpetuate and propagate mind-body split. that splitting keeps us weak and more easily subject to mk-ultra manchurian mind-control by the oligarchs. really? the exrraordinary synchronicities resonated with great energy my body's feeling of a quantum jump of expanded joy and presence in my body and this body as me having reinforced my commitment to being alive. lots in this essay with a great playlist and talk playlist.

My main focus is yoga, meditation and research of Gautama Buddha and health of body and society. I'm creating a yoga centre outside of Oaxaca City to share my discoveries of exploration in this place called 'truth in a pathless landscape', to paraphrase Krishnamurti.
