Chance's Garden

We stayed in Shunkoin Zen Buddhist Temple for a few nights in Kyoto in December 2016. At 9pm every night a monk rang the bell in a nearby temple. I took a walk to find it. Pretty much one of the coolest moments of my life.

With a program largely of seven world premieres of Page's own works inspired by his life, friends, and happenstance during his time living in Wellington, the concert also features John Psathas' Omnifenix, an Australian premiere of this mad, but altogether phenomenal saxophone and drumkit concerto originally written for saxophonist Michael Brecker (not included in this album).

With the ASO conducted by Hamish McKeich, this is a one-time only Adelaide performance from ASO's own Grainger Studio.
