My Teacher

If you're stingy with your love, it'll die on the vine.
This is a lesson that I learned while I was cleaning out my mind.
I had a surplus in the basement, I guess I felt a need to save.
But then I realized it was just rotting there, and it was all going to waste.
I had been stingy with my love and it was dying on the vine.
But I am making a promise now to share all the love I find.

I wake with questions in mind 
before I open my eyes

"When will you be?"

I sit beside the rushing river
impressed by the constant flow
through a shift in the rocks a whirlpool is born
the rain falls and the water rises and the pool loses its form

and nothing is lost
there's nothing to be lost at all
look into the stream and see the endless ocean

watch me as I teeter to both sides
still learning how to open up my eyes
