Aqui el mix que grabé en el estudio de dublab cuando viajé a Los Ángeles en diciembre. Menudo viajecico curioso y poca broma el jetlag que tuve a la vuelta estuve agilipollao por lo menos dos semanas.
El mix es una horita de dub, triphop y beats jazzeros a bajas revoluciones. La música que más disfruto escuchando en mi día a día. Tenía un catarro del copón cuando lo grabé pero estuve super agustico.

Programa dedicado a la figura de Larry Levan, el DJ que convirtió la pista en iglesia y al DJ en sacerdote. Discípulo espiritual de David Mancuso y DJ residente del mítico Paradise Garage, Levan transformó la experiencia del club en un espacio de comunión y libertad. Durante sus diez años al frente del Garage, desarrolló un sonido único que daría nombre a un género: el Garage House. Su gusto musical y su carisma lo llevaron más allá de la cabina, abriendo las puertas de los estudios de producción a los DJ’s y dando forma a los legendarios extended mixes que revolucionaron y moldearon la música de baile de los años 80.

En este programa repasamos su influencia, su visión y su legado, y cerramos con un mix homenaje que recoge la energía, la emoción y la espiritualidad que Levan inspiraba en cada sesión.

Programa dedicado a la figura de Frankie Knuckles, padrino del House y una de las figuras más relevantes en la historia de la música de baile. Desde sus primeros pasos en Nueva York junto a su amigo Larry Levan, en una escena influenciada por el jazz, el soul y la cultura del club que rodeaba al Loft de David Mancuso, hasta su llegada a Chicago, Knuckles desarrolló una manera única de entender la pista como un espacio seguro, espiritual y comunitario. Fue en The Warehouse y, más tarde, en The Power Plant, donde dio forma a un nuevo sonido, combinando emoción, melodía y ritmo, y sentando las bases de lo que el mundo acabaría llamando House Music. Como viene siendo costumbre en Heads of House, cerramos el programa con un mix homenaje a Francis Nicholls, celebrando que el house no es solo música, sino la voz y el corazón de la comunidad negra y gay que la vio nacer.

Programa dedicado a la figura de Ron Hardy, una de las personalidades más radicales e influyentes en la historia del house. Tras una primera etapa de desarrollo en la escena club de Chicago y Los Ángeles, Hardy encontró en The Music Box el lugar desde el que redefinir la música de baile: sesiones extendidas, crudas e imprevisibles, construidas a base de loops, temas acelerados y edits en directo que transformaron la pista en un espacio de tensión y catarsis colectiva. Desde esa cabina influyó de forma decisiva en la primera generación de productores de house y fue clave en el nacimiento del acid house, dejando un legado que sigue resonando en el house, el techno y buena parte de la música electrónica contemporánea. Con ese mismo espíritu —el de alguien que planta un groove con fuerza y buen gusto, y cuya forma de sentir y pinchar la música sigue inspirando— recordamos a Ron Randall Hardy con un mix homenaje.
