Kansas City, USA is the home of who has previously been featured on our special mix series (DTMIXS23) with a stunning and superbly executed mix.

Ryan’s productions can be found on Dynamic Reflection, Amazone and Rheostatus amongst many others as this month he steps into a new realm, launching his own imprint called @EgoDeathLabel that will primarily be an outlet for his own tracks and adapted from his quality live performances.

For this DT:Premiere we selected “The Old Gods” for its pacey and driving dancefloor sound, that gets treated to some smouldering synths and hypnotic atmospherics. Lots of hidden power and layers beneath the surface here, generating a really fresh and timeless sound.

Coming off of EP releases on Dynamic Reflection and 100% Pure, Uun returns to his label Ego Death for it's third release, and it's first on vinyl.

The title track references Carl Sagan's classic work of skepticism "Demon Haunted World." It features a percussive attack that builds into a swirling tornado of distorted synths and hihats. "The Scarlet Martyr" takes a different approach that is heavy on pads and atmospheric elements, all over a bed of field recordings. The B Side starts with NX1's remix of the title track. This interpretation chops up the synths and percussive elements into a broken beat onslaught that builds into the main synth element being deconstructed piece by piece. The final track "Dominions" continues in the broken beat direction with a more straightforward dancefloor approach.

The imprint is relatively young yet has already been reviewed in Mixmag and Fazemag, and has received support and play from names such as Paula Temple, Par Grindvik, Bas Mooy, The Advent, Etapp Kyle, Perc, 2000 and One, Rebekah, Truncate, Developer, Drumcell, Alex Bau, and many more artists in the world of techno. Hard Wax described the Ego Death sound as a "straight ahead techno juggernaut"
